Grandfather Albert Pauwels was a cook and Walter Pauwels followed in his footsteps. Together with his wife Monique Van Den Bleeken, he started a caterer's shop in Mortsel in 1963, where Albert Pauwels also regularly worked. A little later, they moved to a former doctor's house, also in Mortsel, which was converted into a banquet hall.
In the late 1970s, Walter, his wife Monique and their sons Pascal and Dominique bought an abandoned brewery complex in Boechout, which they restored to ‘Hof Van Reyen’. An immense task, which they completed largely single-handedly, while the parties continued unabated. Today, this beautiful party location enjoys an enviable reputation among a varied public of private individuals, companies and associations.
Since 2008, Hof Van Reyen has been passed on to Dominique and Pascal Pauwels, who continue the life's work of their parents (and grandparents). Both grew up in a world of professional party care and learned from an early age to roll up their sleeves to make partygoers feel as comfortable as possible. Together with a professional team, they are ready to make all your dreams come true.
They provide beautiful proposals balanced on budget, or a bride and groom's own creation finished to perfection. Dinners, evening parties, walking dinners, receptions everything is possible. A dream setting for a wedding ceremony in a beautiful outdoor setting, a beautiful garden or rustic courtyard but also with a full back-up plan in their halls.
Hof Van Reyen has 4 banquet halls.
Founded in 1618, ‘De Brouwerij’ has been owned by the Pauwels family since 1979. After a complete makeover, the first weddings took place in 1985. ‘De Brouwerij’ can accommodate 350 people for receptions and 175 for seated dinners. The combination of old photographs, a historical overview of the room and contemporary decorative gadgets contribute to its romantic, cosy and homely character. Whoever chooses this room can enjoy a reception with his guests in the imposing inner courtyard.
Beautiful light from sky-high windows and a wonderful view of the terrace and adjoining garden characterise ‘De Orangerie’. A stylish welcome in the elegant entrance hall with fireplace adds to the romantic character of this room. The beautiful original garden of the estate that has some impressive trees in it is extremely suitable for a beautiful and romantic wedding celebration. It can accommodate 600 people for a reception and 275 for a dinner.
Suitable for receptions and smaller dinners is ‘The Old Crown Room’, adjacent to the larger space ‘The Orangery’. This space is also used to present sumptuous buffets and dessert buffets during large weddings. ‘The Old Crown Room’ is suitable for receptions for up to 275 people and dinners for up to 65 people.
‘The Knights’ Hall' is the most authentic part of the complex and can accommodate 120 people for receptions and 50 for seated dinners. The room is slightly elevated in relation to the Brewery, as the old beer cellar with its beautiful vault is located below it and can now perfectly serve as a wine cellar.
Exclusive catering by the venue. No external catering possible.
