6 Alternatives to throwing rice

Do you know why guests traditionally throw rice at the newlyweds? Rice symbolises fertility. People used to believe that rice would soon bring the newlyweds a baby. Today, however, you are not allowed to throw rice everywhere. Because it does take some energy and time to clean it up later, and because birds can pick it up and it turns out to be not so healthy for those critters. Fortunately, there are plenty of alternatives.
