Dungen Styling offers eye-catching elements and total styling that is unique and personal every time. Claudia says: ‘Getting married is always a different and personal experience. You can tailor your décor perfectly to this experience. That's why our style is always bespoke and we always create something new that no one else has had before."

Why (and how) do something completely different?

Claudia explains why she likes to encourage couples to opt for an original wedding: "It's been an emerging trend for a while now: to stand out from the crowd with your wedding party. Your wedding day should be a unique experience where you want to keep surprising your guests. Your wedding party is also very personal - everyone wants to know who you are and what you stand for. This should be reflected in your decor. If you want to think outside the box and create something that hasn't been done before, I'd recommend calling in a professional."

Types of eye-catcher

Claudia: "In a very large room, I wouldn't recommend using small vases, as they will disappear optically into nothingness. In this case, I'd recommend spending your budget on large eye-catchers, which can completely fill your room and make it feel welcoming. There are many different types of eye-catcher. For example, you can have people walkthrough a tunnel with all sorts of statues for a fun entrance, or set up a large throne or head table for the bride and groom in front of the entrance, decorated with flowers from head to toe. Walls‘ of photos for the photobooths are also elements that create a surprise effect.

The choice of eye-catching element depends largely on your theme and the style you want to adopt. Claudia gives a few examples: ‘If you opt for a “woodland fairy” theme, you can choose a very romantic photobooth, with a big swing, a green wall and all sorts of flowers. If, on the other hand, you opt for an elegant ‘white-gold wedding’, you're in for a completely different style. You could opt for a white and gold balloon decor, or a champagne wall. With a ‘traditional’ white wedding, you can also go in all sorts of original directions. For example, you could opt for a background of ostrich feathers or fringed curtains, with or without a fun balloon motif or catchy quote. Large, all-white floral explosions are also amazing in this respect. The possibilities are endless!

Catchphrases linked to activation

The combination of eye-catchers and animation leading up to activation always works very well. Claudia explains: ‘With a champagne wall, for example, you can ask your guests to ring a bell that says ’Ring for champagne'. A hand then appears through the wall, holding a glass of champagne. An attraction like this, combined with an animation that stimulates your guests, creates a real surprise effect. Your guests will not stop talking about it! Another example: a magnificent trolley containing cava and macaroons, served by two beautiful ladies who welcome your guests. This immediately sets the tone for the party."

Signage trends

What are the current trends? "At the moment, shimmering walls, for example a wall of sequins as a backdrop for the photobooth, are very much in vogue. Another trend is large hanging quotes, such as ‘Better together’, ‘It was always you’, ‘Cheers!’ or the names of the bride and groom and the wedding date. You can make them very personal and give them a different look every time, whether it's a neon sign or a back wall with a specific texture. It all adds up to a very Instagrammable look! Entertainment to entertain your guests is also a very important trend these days," comments Claudia.

Claudia's best advice for your decoration? Think big!

Claudia's top tip for decorating: "Whatever style you go for, think big! Even if you prefer a minimalist style, that doesn't mean you have to opt for small objects. You can opt for large rectangular pieces, such as a large cube topped with a floral arrangement. I always recommend going for the big pieces," she laughs.

About Dungen Styling

Claudia explains how she works with Dungen Styling for weddings: ‘Our first meeting preferably takes place at the wedding venue. Then we can immediately get a feel for the atmosphere . We then discuss the colours and styles you want. Then I'll draw up a mood board and a quote, which I'll put together in a ‘mood box’ with examples and samples of colours, fabrics, prints, etc. If you wish, Dungen Styling will also take care of your entire package and will be your single point of contact for printing, linen, cutlery, set-up and dismantling, entertainment and other aspects, so that everything is perfect in terms of appearance!"
