Matching your partner's personality
Choosing a ring is an intimate and personal process. "When someone knocks on my door for an engagement ring, we dive into the couple's story together," Celine explains. "A lot of customers have a good idea of what their partner would like; others bring their future mother-in-law or sister-in-law, to help choose."
"In an initial conversation, I like to listen to how you met, what makes your loved one so special and how you will propose to him or her," Celine continues. "I note down ideas that arise spontaneously and advise on options tailored to your budget and wishes. Once I have a clear picture of your partner's personality, I let my creativity run wild and make some initial sketches."
Choosing the perfect colour
The sketches give you a clear idea of the shape of the engagement ring. Next, Celine Roelens will work with you to find the gemstone that forms the heart of your ring.
"In all my creations, I like to choose colour," shares Celine. "Colour stones make a ring just that little bit more unique. For example, a Colombian and Zambian emerald are both green - and yet completely different. Each gemstone mine produces its own variety of colours. Carefully selecting gemstones takes us to the farthest corners of the world, and each stone tells its own story of origin. This rarity makes a colourful gemstone extra special. In addition, it is enormously nice to find the colour together that emphasises the personality and beauty of your bride-to-be even more," Celine adds.
The most popular gemstones
Wondering which colour suits your loved one? Get inspired by the most popular gemstones of the moment.
"Right now, green is making a glorious comeback," explains Celine. "Green tourmaline is very often chosen - a lush gemstone with an intense green colour, which balances you and promotesa positive mindset."
Celine: "Ruby and sapphire also remain popular gemstones. A red ruby radiates pure love and passion. So perfect to celebrate your love. Finally, a blue sapphire is one of the most famous in the world thanks to Lady Diana's beautiful specimen, and remains a top choice for an engagement ring."
"Although I want to stress that anything is possible. Together with you, I will look for a colour that completely suits your partner's personality and look," Celine concludes. "That way, your loved one will undoubtedly say 'yes' when you get down on one knee."
