Pascal from Femat talks about hiring out wedding decorations. The most beautiful decoration of all? For Pascal, it's the crockery: ‘On the one hand,the crockery completes your festive table; on the other, it's a gift for the chef to be able to present the dishes beautifully on a plate that blends in perfectly with the rest. What could be nicer than walking into a beautifully decorated room with the right glasses, cutlery and plates? For me, when the whole is perfect, it's the most beautiful decoration there is. Femat has a very wide range of tableware. We offer around thirty different sets, including some by Serax. This also includes linen, with which we extend the refined quality to the entire range. We also match glasses and cutlery very well".
Pascal continues: ‘When itcomes to decoration, there are lots of trends. You can also do very beautiful things with flowers - we leave that to the specialist florists. We concentrate on the essentials for your decoration hire, and we go a long way in this area.’
Unique furniture
As well as decor hire, you can also turn to Femat for your furniture. The team has even designed some unique pieces. Pascal: "Our “Modus bar” is a modular bar that adapts to your venue and your needs in terms of length, shape, style and materials. So you can hire the perfect bar for your needs. We've also designed ‘Twiggy’, a visible clothes rack. The first thing your guests see at your party is often the cloakroom. That's whywe developed this bespoke eye-catcher."
And the service!
Femat often works directly with your wedding planner, reception hall or caterer, but as the bride and groom, you can also contact them yourself. Pascal: " Reception halls and caterers often work with us because of our service. The service is very flexible. If there's a question, we can answer it thanks to our larger stocks. We are also versatile and can work with other suppliers to take care of your entire event. There is now so much on offer and so many different requests that not everyone can offer everything. You want your party to be everything you want it to be, it has to be possible.’
Pascal continues about Femat's flexible service: ’Your decoration hire can be an evolving process; often you can't decide everything straight away. So you can adapt our offer along the way - sometimes you still need parasols or heating, or you want a different colour of towels. Thanks to our large stock, this is no problem at all. You can fine-tune your order up to two days before delivery. It's often the case that you don't know exactly how many people will turn up in advance. So you pay the right price. We deliver everything quickly with our own transport fleet - as parcels, and that's also how we pick them up. If necessary, you can also collect last-minute items such as towels, accessories or umbrellas yourself . After collection, we'll of course take care of washing your clothes and dishes.
Advice on hiring your decoration
Pascal gives his advice on choosing your decor: ‘Firstly, takea good look at the space you have available, and perhaps draw inspiration from previous celebrations at your venue. Secondly, don't forget to take a look online - on Instagram, Pinterest and websites like ours. This will usually give you a first impression of the material you want to use. You're also always welcome to visit our showroom, where we can show you the furniture and crockery. The more prepared you areand the more you know about what you want before you visit, the easier it will be for us to discuss your specific wishes and make them come true.
The earlier you order, the more choice you have - but it all depends on what's in stock. Pascal: "Some periods are busier than others. It may be that three months before your party, your choice is still available."
Trends in decoration hire
Pascal tells us what's hot this year and next: "Natural materials such as wood are very popular. Cosy and plushelements for finishes are also very popular. We're also noticing that couples are paying more attention to detail. When it comes to crockery, every piece is important, everything has its function. A good glass to match the wine is important. Couples tend to want everything to be well prepared; they consciously choose their materials. This is also reflected in the colours, which often continue from the invitation to the napkins, for example, to maintain the atmosphere throughout. Pastel colours often come into play’.
