1. Start looking in good time

Make-up artists for a wedding are booked far in advance. Sometimes Lauren gets bookings up to two years in advance.

2. Check the portfolio

Research the website, social media pages and credentials of the make-up artist you have in mind to see what style the make-up artist has. You can often infer a lot based on his or her professional pages.

3. Is there a click?

When you are practically convinced, send the make-up artist an e-mail or give him or her a call before your wedding. The first communication often shows whether you have a click with this person. Trust is very important because a make-up artist must be able to understand your wishes, transform these expectations into a realistic picture that suits you and reassure you on the morning of your most important day.

4. Don't focus on price

You cannot compare a make-up artist for your wedding with someone who does not specialise in brides. Prices of a professional always include all communication, the luxury products, the travel, the early morning, the products that make hygiene a priority,... For professionalism, you pay a little more but you also get a little more in return at the end of the day!

5. Your trial session

After you have found a professional make up artist for your wedding, it is time to get acquainted during a trial session a few months before your wedding. During your tasting session, make sure you have some photos of your ideal make-up and hairstyling. Look for a Pinterest picture showing someone with the same hair colour, with the same skin type, with the same eye colour as you. Based on your preferences, test out your realistic make-up.

6. Got any questions? Shout!

Your make-up artist remains available in the run-up to your wedding, is happy to answer your questions and plans the preparation of your beauty look on your wedding day in a relaxed manner.

7. Have faith: you are in good hands

Have faith in your make-up artist for your wedding! She or he will make you shine on your wedding day, according to your own wishes. Enjoy, because you are in good hands!
