A unique bachelor party
Megaleuk: as maid of honour, you will soon get to surprise the bride-to-be with her bachelor party. Find out beforehand how she sees the course of ‘her bachelorette’. Does she prefer a quiet, cosy evening with friends? Then respect her opinion and leave out that trip to the hippest clubs. It should be an unforgettable, fun bachelorette for her!
Say yes to the dress!
An important - but also very fun - task of the maid of honour is to help pick out the perfect wedding dress. Give the bride-to-be honest advice in moments of doubt. Help her find the wedding dress of her dreams, and celebrate together once it has been found. Let that champagne pop!
Preparing the bride
In the hours before the vows, the bride-to-be will like to have her maid of honour close to her. Make sure everything is ready in advance: her wedding dress, jewellery, shoes, and make-up. Listen carefully to what she wants to tell you, help her where you can, and make sure she looks stunning on her big day!
Always stand by the bride
Is she someone who needs a shoulder to cry on, does she want to be able to have a hearty cry to you, or does she just come to you for a big hug, the bride to be will need you. Keep in mind that this will happen both during the run-up to and during the wedding itself. The important thing is that you are always there for her. Be sincere during difficult times, but also share the blissful moments that are so in store.
The ring
Sometimes the bride chooses to give her partner's ring from her maid of honour ‘s hand. An incredibly beautiful request but also a very important responsibility. It is then up to you, as maid of honour, to take good care of the ring and, of course, not forget to take it with you. You got this!
Hostess of the evening
On the big day, it is important that the bride can fully enjoy herself and not have to think about anything else. That's why you can take on the role of ‘hostess’. This ranges from welcoming the guests and answering their questions to showing the guests the way to their table, guest book or table of thanks. That way, the guests know that they don't have to bother the couple but can turn to you, as maid of honour, for that.
Make a toast
As maid of honour, you may soon get to say a word during the party! Think of a nice text in advance and make an original, not-too-long speech. A speech like this often tells the story of the couple's life, which is great fun but best to keep it short and to the point. Funny anecdotes are welcome, but be careful not to embarrass the bride too much.
Enjoy!
Yes, you are indeed responsible for quite a task. But that does not mean that you cannot enjoy this unforgettable day. On the contrary, together you will experience an unforgettable moment that will be a memory forever! We are certain: after today, your special bond will be even stronger than before.
