Costume change for him

Not so long ago, the groom and the men of the suite changed outfits for the wedding evening party. During the day, they wore a jacquet, a long black waistcoat with a slit that went down to the knees. This was usually combined with grey trousers with a fine stripe, a grey waistcoat, a tie and a white shirt. A grey top hat and gloves completed the outfit. For the evening party, men traditionally wore a classic black dinner jacket.

Today, the groom usually wears just one suit on his wedding day, increasingly custom-made and in a specific colour. But it must be said: nothing stops you from going back to ‘the good old days’ and providing a second wedding suit for your evening party!

Dress change for her

Whereas in the past, men often changed their outfits for the evening party of their wedding, today this custom is more common for the bride. Indeed, more and more brides are choosing not one but two or more wedding dresses to wear on their wedding day! The first dress is usually slightly more classic, and is worn until the wedding ceremony. Later in the day or during the evening party, the bride often puts on a more breezy wedding dress . A dress in which she can move a little more freely, and which is shorter, (slightly) blusher and more extravagant, for example. Dance party-proof!

Freshen up in good time

In between your wedding events and just before the opening dance, it can be nice to refresh yourself as a bride and groom. You may have had quite a few emotions and special moments in the meantime. Therefore, stock a toiletry bag with items such as touch-up make-up, perfume, deo, wet wipes and so on. That way, you can fix your hair and touch up your make-up, and you will appear refreshed at your wedding evening party.

Pamper your feet

Sometimes blisters are inevitable, even if you walked in your wedding shoes on time. So it is best to bring an extra pair of shoes for the evening party of your wedding. We are secretly also big fans of trainers as a second pair of (dancing) shoes!

Play with your accessories

For your wedding evening party, take off your veil, and provide another accessory such as a pretty tiara or pin to put in your hair. Buy a second pair of earrings, another bracelet or add a necklace. Et voilà, a subtle but effective way to make your look completely evening party-proof in no time!
