Your Sound & Light partner in crime
‘Right from the start, we work with the bride and groom to find the best sound and light package for their wedding venue. It's very useful for us if couples have already thought about this beforehand and can come up with a few ideas. We can then start working on these ideas in advance," explains Nickolas.
‘We can also let them know what's feasible and how we can approach certain things. Not every idea is technically or financially feasible, and we tell our customers that up front. For us, it's important to establish a relationship of trust with the bride and groom, so that we can help them as much as possible to fulfil their wishes. For example, we visit the venue to see what elements are already there and how we can incorporate them into the wedding celebration. In this way, we can offer a service to suit all budgets’.
Sound and light? The essentials
‘With Blue Moon, we ensure optimal lighting and sound at your wedding venue,’ explains Nickolas. ‘To do this, we supply all the technical equipment. We always ensure that the hall, corridor, bar and DJ booth are well lit and that all speeches can be heard clearly. Providing these basic elements immediately gives your wedding party that extra touch. All the cables are well concealed and one or more technicians remain on site on the big day to ensure that everything runs smoothly and any problems are quickly resolved.’
Ambient and practical lighting
‘At Blue Moon, we offer a wide range of decorative lighting, for which we work with various partners. The advantage is that we can always use different and new products at weddings. This makes each wedding unique every time. Our technicians programme an appropriate set of lights to accompany the DJ or band, which creates an extra dynamic at the wedding party,’ explains Nickolas. ‘We also regularly place speakers in the car park and/or on the aisle. That way, guests can already hear the music when they arrive, which creates a magical atmosphere and gets them in the mood straight away. We always try to add fun elements that take the wedding party to the next level.’
But the importance of practical lighting shouldn't be underestimated either, Nickolas points out: ‘People often show us their great ideas on Pinterest, but in doing so they sometimes forget that these examples can be too bright or too dark in places. Guests like to see what they're getting on their boards, and functional lighting is important for that," explains Nickolas. ‘When guests are returning to their cars after the party, car park lighting is certainly appropriate. By thinking about these things too, you ensure an exclusive and very neat memory of your party."
Technical operators
‘At Blue Moon, we have all the necessary technical know-how, which we are happy to make available to the bride and groom. By always visiting the venue beforehand, our project managers know immediately what the venue still needs in terms of sound and lighting. We also check whether there is enough electricity for the lighting, the catering or any toilet trucks. If not, we can easily provide an extra generator. If the entrance to the venue is difficult for our trucks to access, we look at how we can make our deliveries convenient.’
‘Our project managers also look in advance at what needs to be done to optimise acoustics. Together with Blue Moon, we take care of all the arrangements with the technical providers and people in charge and supply all the equipment needed for the technical installation of the venue.
We make sure that everything is organised down to the last detail,’ says Nickolas. ‘This job is our passion, which is why it's our mission to deliver the best possible result!"
Audiovisual peace of mind
‘Your wedding with Blue Moon is a wedding without technical worries,’ Nickolas points out. ‘All the technical organisation is taken care of by us, which takes away a lot of worries and gives the bride and groom peace of mind," explains Nickolas.
Tips for a constructive briefing
‘The more information you give us, the more fun we have working,’ explains Nickolas. ‘Carte blanche can be a good thing, but prefer to tell us all your ideas and, if necessary, bring your Pinterest board in advance! Also, think carefully about a target budget. That way, we'll be on the same page from day one."
When is the best time to contact Blue Moon? ‘As soon as you've booked your venue, you can contact us. Ideally about six months in advance. This gives us time to go and look at the venue for the event and prepare an initial detailed proposal. Once this proposal has been approved, we can book the audiovisual equipment for your party and appoint the best technicians. We always want to offer the best service to our customers, so contacting us in advance gives everyone plenty of time to do just that."
Some fun achievements...
‘Working with MeetMarcel, we looked after Filip and Suzanne's wedding. It took place in a conservatory in Loenhout. The advantage of this project was that we could hide all the technology. We hid all the speakers in tall trees and the lights could also be subtly hidden by adding flowers or wrapping the poles in jute. In other words, everything was invisible. In this way, the technical gadgets didn't take over the party. Completing this project was extremely gratifying."
‘Some time ago, we also organised a wonderful party with Absolutely Fabulous Weddings at the Abbaye de La Ramée, where we were able to show ourselves at our best. The venue had very large pillars, and by hanging lots of lights we were able to create an instant wow factor. In consultation with the wedding planner and florist, we completed the decoration of the room. Combined with the imposing furniture, the image was perfect. I think we can truly say that with our help, a perfect venue was transformed into an even more brilliant experience!"
