Booking your live music in 7 steps
1. Consider what kind and style of live music you want
There are many different types of live music possible at your wedding. Are you looking for a romantic solo artist, a harmonious string quartet or an energetic cover band? Does an accompanying piano, guitar or enchanting vocals best suit the atmosphere you have in mind? Discuss which moments you would like to use live music: during the ceremony, reception, dinner, your opening dance and/or the evening party?
2. Search and listen
In the search for your favourite live musician(s), it is of course very important that their music suits your taste and wedding. Therefore, watch and listen to videos and audio clips of potential live musicians for your wedding. On their website, YouTube channel and social media, you will probably find many recordings of the artists. In addition, find out how much experience they have at weddings, how versatile they are and to what extent they can meet your specific musical preferences. Here you will find an overview of the best and most reliable live musicians with quality labels.
3. Determine your budget and get in touch
Draw up a realistic budget for the live music at your wedding. Take into account the number of musicians you want, their level of experience and the duration of their performance (whether or not at several times throughout the day).
Get a quote from your favourite band(s) or artist(s). Be sure to mention the date of your wedding to see if they are still available!
4. Meet your favourite musician(s)
After choosing your favourite musician(s), schedule an (online) meeting with the artist. This way, you can discuss your vision, your wedding theme or the atmosphere you have in mind, preferences for songs and styles and any specific wishes with the band or artist.
5. Book in time
It is best to book your live music as soon as possible, because popular live musicians often have busy schedules. This way, you can be sure that your favourite band or solo artist can provide music at your wedding! Check, another thing to tick off!
6. Agree on technical matters
Agree with both your musician and your wedding venue on the technical requirements and who takes care of what. How much space does the band need, where are they best set up, what connections or equipment are needed, etc.? ? Your musician and venue will know exactly what to take into account!
Do not forget to provide crew meals for your musicians - just like for your photographer, videographer, etc. - so that they also get something to eat and drink in time. Agree this in advance with your caterer and wedding venue.
7. Provide a personal touch
Share with your musician what your favourite songs and key musical moments are, during your ceremony, reception and/or dance party - your opening dance, for example? Their expertise will help you create an unforgettable atmosphere. Ask them if they can perform some meaningful songs for you. This will immediately make the performance more personal.
Do let the artist give their own interpretation and interpretation of the music for a unique experience. Together, you will create the perfect mood for every moment!
Live music adds that special touch to your wedding day, creating an unparalleled atmosphere, energy and ambience. Your search for the perfect musician for your wedding starts here.
Good luck!
