To veggie or not to veggie
These days, we don't all eat from the same plate. Besides people with intolerances and allergies, there are also those who consciously choose a life without meat. Vegetarianism poses a real challenge for many couples while planning their wedding party. Especially when the couple themselves are vegetarian or if one of the two leads a meat-free existence. Because then the choice falls: do we opt for a completely vegetarian wedding? Or do we combine with a piece of meat or fish after all?
Finger food from the kitchen garden
During the reception, you usually serve small bites for which you, as a couple, put together a personalised assortment of delicacies. Cocktail greens are a finger food classic, and vegetable soup, tomato and mozzarella skewers, bruschettas, goat cheese toast, vegetable wraps or bread sticks with dips are also among the many options. Your caterer knows best what all is possible.
More than a dish without meat
Do you opt for a vegetarian menu for your entire party? As a starter, think for example of aubergine with feta from the oven, vegetable quiche, a soup (based on vegetable stock), stuffed mushrooms, ravioli with spinach and goat's cheese, ... So the vegetarians in the room can enjoy your first course without a care in the world.
Of course, you can always opt for a dish with meat, and then provide an alternative for vegetarians. Although most vegetarians will never make impossible demands or want to appear ungrateful, it is still nice that their alternative to your menu is well considered. Consult with your caterer if you can serve a dish that has a vegetarian version. A lot of chefs, meanwhile, specialise in creating some delicious vegetarian top dishes.
Main course with meat substitutes
You can also rely on your caterer's expertise for your main course. Make use of meat substitutes such as tofu, chickpeas and cheeses such as Halloumi and Berloumi. A buffet where everyone puts together their own plate is also a safe choice for a party with non-meat eaters. By offering vegetarian options alongside meat, everyone is happy. In doing so, it is best to make sure that vegetarian dishes are adequately stocked. Some dishes are just gigantically delicious....
Dessert for all
Good news, vegetarians can extensively enjoy all the goodies your dessert buffet will soon offer. And for those who like desserts free of refined sugars, animal products, nuts and also processed with 100% natural products, there are specialised bakers. Enjoy their delicious cakes guilt-free!
