Procedure

The documents required to get married in Wallonia are the following: identity card or passport, a birth certificate less than 6 months old and proof of residence. At least 14 days before the wedding, you as a couple must appear before the registrar of births, marriages and deaths to declare the marriage. This should take place in the municipality where one of you lives or is registered in the population register. The marriage record will then be compiled. After this appointment, you as a couple are authorised to get married in Wallonia.
