You may have read, heard, or already noticed it: internationally (especially in the US), the wedding industry has been talking this spring about an “Engagement Gap”. There would be fewer engagements than in other years, due to the strict lockdowns in 2020: singles couldn’t get to know each other because they weren’t allowed to go out... This would now result in a temporary gap (hiatus, shortfall) in engagements—relatively fewer couples than in other years would have gotten engaged this year. Do you think this is also the case in Belgium?
Editor’s note: for now, it’s mainly jewelers who are feeling the impact of this Engagement Gap: in April 2023, CNN reported in an article that engagement ring sales had dropped sharply at the largest jeweler in the United States. At House of Weddings, we will certainly continue to do our best to help our partners achieve maximum bookings!
The good news?
Fortunately, this gap is only temporary—an increase in engagements is expected again starting this summer;
Our partners will soon be in the front row to reconnect with growth, because our “Marriage Proposal” blog ensures that consumers find us—and therefore you—faster.
House of Weddings is here for you! We will remain your partner in growth—especially in times when we can once again mean even more for you.
Shout if you have any questions, and please send us as many of your most beautiful photos as possible so we can give you extra visibility across all our channels.
Best of luck! 💪
