1. Get inspired

Good preparation is key, ’ starts Michael. "Would you like a classic suit, do you prefer a bow tie or is a tie more your thing? When choosing your wedding suit, there are countless options. So sniff the wedding atmosphere in physical shops beforehand, browse through our wedding magazine and create a mood board on Instagram or Pinterest."

"Do you have specific questions? Sign up for one of our webinars,’ shares Michaël. ‘A trio of experts will then be on hand to answer all your questions, discuss the latest trends and provide tips to best prepare you for choosing your wedding suit.’

2. Define your style

During a first appointment, we dive deeper into your preferences,’ Michaël explains. "We will tell you more about our working method and listen to your wedding plans. Where are you getting married, is there a specific theme and do you have a particular colour palette in mind? We ask questions to get a clear picture of how your day will go. We also take the time to get to know you better. After all, we are going to look for a wedding suit that highlights your personality."

Michaël: "During this first meeting, we also sound out your partner's wedding clothes. We ask you to bring a fabric sample of her dress or his suit, or discreetly contact your fiancé for a photo. That way we get a full picture and can look for the perfect match in terms of fabric and style for your outfit."

3. Design your tailor-made wedding suit

During a second appointment at Michael & Giso, your measurements are taken and you and the tailor put together your wedding suit.

The basis of a good suit is always the right fabric ,’ shares Michael. "If you're getting married in a warm location in the south of Italy, we work with an airy fabric that breathes. Then we determine the colour that suits you. Again - if you wish - we take your location into account. If the ceremony takes place in the forest, we strategically omit shades of green. Then we also scrutinise the fit of the suit and advise on the model that will make you shine."

Fortunately, you don't have to go through the search for the right fabric, the perfect colour and the ideal fit alone. Be accompanied by about three close friends or family members who can help you choose your suit in peace and quiet.

4. Record your first fitting appointment

‘After choosing all the essentials, we get to work,’ Michäel continues. "After two to three months your costume will be ready, and we will contact you for a first fitting. Exciting! You get to see your wedding costume for the first time. We carefully check that everything fits well and make note of any adjustments."

5. Complete your look with the right accessories

Wedding costume: check? Finalise your look with matching accessories. ‘The overall picture counts,’ says Michaël. "When you visit us to try on your suit for the first time, we immediately look for the right accessories too. A tie or bow tie, matching shoes and a stylish pocket square are indispensable."

6. Go for a final fitting

After the fitting, the seamstresses will put the finishing touches to your wedding suit. Once the adjustments have been made, you come back one last time to try on the entire outfit. And you will see, all the pieces of the puzzle fall together. You're all set for your big day!
