1. Colour of the year: Future Dusk
While international colour institute Pantone will not reveal its colour of the year for 2025 until later this year - usually in December - another prediction is already known. Indeed, according to international trend forecaster WGSN and colour coding system Coloro, the colour of 2025 is Future Dusk, a mysterious and intriguing colour between dark blue and purple. The deep shade of blue and violet, also known by the Coloro code 129-35-18, resembles the night sky - or as if the colour is just out of this world. Evolutions in AI, the metaverse and space exploration, among others, contributed to this prediction. Future Dusk is versatile and gender-inclusive, and will be a key colour for classic styles and investment pieces. It plays on themes of transition - for example, moving from dark to light, or from sunset to sunrise - making it a perfect colour for periods of ‘change’. Something blue, anyone?
So shades of (dark) blue and violet will already be a popular choice for bridesmaids' dresses or the groom's outfit in 2025. You can also incorporate these shades of blue in your printed matter, in your accessories or jewellery, in your table decorations, wedding cake, and so on.
2. Sustainable choices
As in past years, sustainability remains very important in 2025. More and more couples are opting for eco-friendly or sustainable solutions. Think local and seasonal catering and flowers, a conscious choice for local bridal and jewellery designers or ethically responsible (bridal) brands, sustainable wedding thank yous such as seeds and plants, printing on recycled paper, and so on.
Brides are also increasingly opting for wedding dresses they can still wear after the party. The dress then consists of two parts, for example, perfect for getting the top and/or skirt out later for a suitable occasion.
3. Wedding content creator
In 2025, wedding content creators are gaining a lot of popularity. In this age of Instagram Reels and TikTok trends, creating social media content is almost becoming second nature. At your own wedding, however, you don't want to walk around with your smartphone yourself to capture every Insta-worthy moment. This is where you now hire a (wedding) content creator! This person will take all the best behind-the-scenes photos and videos for you - which will then be perfect for use on your social media.
Note: a content creator should be seen as an ‘addition to’ and not as a replacement for your professional wedding photographer or videographer. You still and absolutely want them by your side to take the most memorable and wonderful photos and videos on your wedding day; the material a wedding content creator will create for you will continue to serve a different purpose.
4. High glitter & glamour wedding dresses
When it comes to wedding dresses, it can all be a bit more in 2025: more glitter, more bows, more glam! Visible corsets, transparent fabrics, capes, pearls and sequins, it's all possible! Also really hot: multiple dresses for the different parts of your party, or elements of your dress that you can take off and put on to achieve a different look, such as loose sleeves, a wrap - attached to your dress at the height of your shoulders and falling down with a cape effect - or a skirt that you can take off to transform your dress for the evening party into a super cool mini-dress!

5. Strict dress codes
The attire of guests in 2025 should also be a bit more, and especially: more ‘themed’! For example, give your guests a mood board with the style of clothing you would like them to wear. Do you want everyone dressed in long, bright, colourful -sunset colours, anyone?- or just completely in black? Couples in 2025 have a clear vibe in mind, and they are only too happy to have their guests adhere to the dress code to make their wedding visually even more radiant. Start dreaming away about the beautiful photos that will result!
6. Wedding Weekends
The trend of multi-day weddings continues in 2025. They were already gaining popularity for several years, and next year is also all about extending your celebration over several days and nights.
More and more couples choose to celebrate their multi-day wedding outside Belgium, and go for a destination wedding! These are often slightly more intimate weddings with a smaller guest list, to create a more personal, lavish experience. This way, you and your guests enjoy your wedding celebration longer and more intensely.
7. Personality in every detail
You see: couples in 2025 want to have the most personalised wedding celebration possible. Every aspect of their wedding day ideally reflects their personality and their love story. In doing so, they want to use unique elements to create a special experience for their guests. Personalising your wedding party is possible in many ways, for example: custom-made wedding attire, a menu with your favourite dishes and drinks, specially composed playlists, personalised gifts for the guests, decoration with your ‘logo’ or initials, personalised wedding rings, and so on.
8. Flowers: bigger and brighter, please!
For a floral decoration that is totally on trend in 2025, go for bold and vibrant colour palettes with a pop of colour. More and more couples are opting for unexpected combinations instead of traditional white and pastel colours. Think bright orange, deep red or dark purple flowers that pair beautifully with lush green foliage. So next year, floral arrangements can make a statement and are getting bigger too. Couples will opt for impressive flower arches and other eye-catchers for the ceremony and for the hall. The tables can also be decorated to the max with colourful centrepieces.
9. Spontaneous documentary-style photography & drones
Documentary wedding photography captures timeless and precious memories in a natural way. There is less posing; your photographer will take mostly spontaneous photos to capture pure, heartfelt moments - your grandparents smiling sweetly at you, your proud partner's tears when you show up, the kids playing on the grass,... More and more couples are opting for this authentic photography style, which they can look back on later with warm hearts and a sense of nostalgia.
Couples not only want to have all the moments captured down to the last detail, but also the bigger picture or the overall picture. This is why drones are also among the wedding trends of 2025. Drones are becoming increasingly innovative and deliver spectacular images every time. Note: do check beforehand whether drones and aerial photography are allowed at your location, and whether the owner has the appropriate official licence.
10. Interactive food & drink
In 2025, food and drink will increasingly become a form of entertainment. The trends of walking dinners, show cooking, barbecues and food trucks have already gained popularity for several years and will continue next year. There will even be a step further in 2025 with the ‘Build your own plate’ trend, where guests put together their own dishes and drinks. Think of a cocktail bar where guests can create their own signature cocktail, sharing dishes, different food stalls, .... To sum up: in terms of catering, bridal couples are opting en masse for a loose atmosphere and a wide range of offerings for their guests!
Also midnight snacks and snacks on the dance floor will remain a hit in 2025. Will you opt for sweet or savoury (or maybe even both)? Either way, your guests will feast on fries, croque monsieurs, hot dogs, mini-burgers, churros, a chocolate or candy bar... Yum!
11. The bridal hairstyle of 2025: loose waves!
Although traditional updos like the classic dot are still a timeless option, more and more brides are letting their hair down in natural, soft waves. This style has a romantic feel and is perfect for outdoor weddings and less formal ceremonies. A hair accessory, such as a hairpin on one side of your hair, is the perfect finishing touch for these loose curls.
Would you rather put your hair up anyway? Sleek buns or tight buns and ponytails are also on the rise. Elegant and chic!
