Live portraits are a unique way to immortalize your guests while creating a warm and memorable moment. During your wedding party, Aurelie draws portraits in ink and watercolour on the spot. Each guest receives a handmade keepsake to take home immediately: an original thank-you gift and a lasting memory of your beautiful day.

Services

Aurelie draws an average of 12 guests per hour, individually, as couples, or as families.

The paper on which the portraits are drawn can be fully personalised with your names and wedding date, or with the motifs and colours of your celebration. Whether that’s lemons, lavender, or dahlias.

Would you also like a keepsake of the live drawing experience? Upon request, Aurelie can scan the portraits on site, so that you too receive a digital version of the artwork.

About Aurelie Deckers Illustrations

Ever since kindergarten, Aurelie has had her head in the clouds. She couldn’t tie her shoelaces and didn’t understand why she needed to know the order of the days of the week. Yet she filled dozens of pages with little characters and memorised the poems read aloud in class, only to carefully copy them into a small notebook once she got home.

After studying Russian and German translation in Antwerp, Aurelie moved to Paris, where she was accepted into CESAN, a school specialising in illustration and comic art. In her final year, a friend suggested she draw portraits of guests during a gala. “Your style is perfect for this.” She was right.

A few months later, Aurelie drew wedding guests for the very first time. As the evening went on, a queue began to form at her table. Everyone wanted to go home with their own portrait. Today, she still tells other people’s stories, one illustration at a time.

Active in

Today, Aurelie still lives in Paris, a city full of inspiration that she can never quite let go of. But during the summer months, the peaceful life of Leefdaal, near Leuven, calls to her.
