Lodewijk Van Male is a beautiful location just outside the centre of Bruges, steeped in history and charm. The castle is said to have been built in the 17th century by a Bruges lawyer and was purchased in 1831 by Baron Eugène de Peellaert, who had the estate further renovated.

In 1946, the castle came into the hands of the Derycke family. They transformed the park and the castle into the Lodewijk van Male hotel and restaurant. Lodewijk Van Male has since become an established name in Bruges and the surrounding area.

Today, Salons ‘Lodewijk van Male’ is the ideal location for wedding parties, communions, anniversaries, birthdays and staff parties. Since 2011, the third generation of the Derycke family, with Frederic Derycke at the helm, has been guaranteeing a warm welcome and flawless organisation every day.

Party rooms

Lodewijk Van Male offers various atmospheric locations on the estate, so that every moment of your day is perfect:

• Large Party Room (capacity up to 200 people seated): do you dream of a grand dinner followed by a spectacular dance party? In the Large Party Room, you can celebrate with all your loved ones without any restrictions on your guest list.
• Garden (minimum 50 people, maximum 200 people standing): get married under the sun with the castle as a breathtaking backdrop? The garden of Lodewijk Van Male is an idyllic setting for your ceremony and/or reception in the open air.
• Garden pavilion: ideal for receptions and dinner. After dinner, the team will accompany you to the Grand Party Room for the dance party.
• Restaurant (capacity up to 70 people seated): for those who prefer a more intimate party, the atmospheric restaurant offers a warm and personal setting.

Overnight stay

The estate has a charming three-star hotel with 19 comfortable rooms. As the bride and groom, you will spend the night in the atmospheric bridal suite, which is included in your wedding party.

Parking

Lodewijk Van Male has a spacious private car park. There is also ample parking in the immediate vicinity.
