Party Rooms

How many guests can SCALA accommodate?

SCALA event centre features nine multifunctional spaces and over 750 m² of event space. Thanks to movable walls, different rooms can be combined and adapted to suit the number of guests and the schedule of your wedding day.

From an intimate ceremony or private dinner to a wedding reception with up to 350 guests: the SCALA team will devise a suitable room layout for every moment. For a sit-down dinner, up to 300 guests can be accommodated, depending on the chosen layout.

The heart of the wedding venue is the Schelde Lounge. This 309 m² room features a dance floor and a large LED wallon which you can display your personal photos, names, text or videos.

Can the ceremony, dinner and party all take place at a single venue?

Yes. At SCALA, you can ensure that the different stages of your wedding flow seamlessly into one another. Start with a romantic ceremony, welcome your guests at a reception, enjoy a festive dinner together and round off the day with an evening party on the dance floor.

The flexible function rooms can be reconfigured and given a different atmosphere throughout the day. This means your guests don’t have to move around, and the whole wedding day remains organised and relaxed.

Throughout the day, you’ll also have access to a private room where you can get changed, freshen up or simply take a moment to yourself in peace.

SCALA has a modern, light and refined look, yet remains deliberately versatile. The spaces form a stylish blank canvas that can be fully adapted to your wedding concept with flowers, lighting, décor and personal touches.

Whether you’re dreaming of a Mediterranean wedding with light colours, an elegant and timeless dinner, or a cosy winter wedding: the décor and room layout will be tailored to the atmosphere you desire.

The large windows and architectural ceiling provide plenty of natural light during the day. In the evening, bespoke lighting, décor and audiovisual options create the perfect atmosphere for the dinner and dance party.

Catering

SCALA’s catering team will work with you to develop a bespoke culinary concept. The dishes, presentation and service will be tailored to your preferences, the number of guests and the schedule for your wedding day.

In addition, there are two restaurants within the Courtyard by Marriott Ghent. ARNO ristorante, led by chef Louis Verstrepen, brings the flavours of Tuscany to Ghent and can be exclusively booked for wedding dinners for up to 35 people. In spring and summer, the adjoining terrace also provides an atmospheric setting.

Brasserie STROOM, on the other hand, offers a more relaxed atmosphere and is ideal for lunch, dinner, a welcome drink or a cosy get-together before or after the wedding day.

Accommodation

Courtyard by Marriott Ghent is located directly above SCALA. After the evening reception, you can simply take the lift or stairs to your hotel room, without having to arrange any further transport.

Residence Inn by Marriott Ghent and Holiday Inn Express & Suites Ghent are also within walking distance. Together, the hotels on the site offer more than 400 rooms, ranging from comfortable hotel rooms to more spacious suites for longer stays.

This makes SCALA particularly suitable for weddings with guests travelling from further afield, international parties and multi-day wedding celebrations. It also makes it easy to organise events before and after the wedding day, such as a family dinner, a welcome reception or a group breakfast.

Location and parking

SCALA is situated on Akkerhage, on the outskirts of Ghent and outside the low-emission zone. The wedding venue is close to the R4, E17 and E40 motorways and is therefore easily accessible from Ghent, Antwerp, Brussels and other parts of East Flanders.

There are 200 parking spaces available on site, including underground parking spaces and 40 charging points for electric cars. SCALA is also accessible by public transport via various tram and bus stops in the vicinity.
