On Ghent's Sint-Pietersplein, where such luminaries as Prince and Leonard Cohen once performed at dusk, lies the centuries-old Sint-Pieters Abdij. The abbey is one of the city's most beautiful and at the same time oldest monuments. The current buildings date from the 17th and 18th centuries, and the impressive refectory even dates back to the Middle Ages.

St Peter's Abbey exudes history. The historic house is open for both cultural events and private initiatives. Behind its stately facades, you will discover an idyllic courtyard, enclosed by spacious corridors that give access to the imposing chapter house. In the underground Cellarium of Sint-Pietersabdij, the Romanesque vaults provide an intriguing backdrop. Last but not least, in the large garden with vineyard, fruit trees, herb garden and ruins, you linger among lavender and vines and the South of France is never far away. In short, the inspiring atmosphere of Sint-Pietersabdij and its lush garden are the perfect setting for an unforgettable party or congress!

Cellarium

The Romanesque columns and rough walls of the Cellarium at Sint-Pietersabdij create an extraordinary, intimate ambience. The Cellarium can accommodate 131 people. There is direct access to the southern abbey garden.

Chapter House

Sint-Pietersabdij's luminous Chapter House can accommodate up to 185 people. This space can be extended to the abbey corridors and the abbey garden.

Abbey garden

Sint-Pietersabdij's garden is only rented in combination with the Cellarium or the Chapter House. All kinds of concepts can be developed in the large garden with its terrace. Food trucks or an idyllic nomadic tent, for example, would be perfect here.

Abbey corridors 

Sint-Pietersabdij's  corridors open directly onto the garden. A dinner at long richly decorated tables in the  corridors will give your party a special cachet.

Pandhof (Abbey garden)

With fairy lights and other atmospheric features, you will soon find yourself in an enchanted world at Sint-Pietersabdij. This gem will turn your party into a unique event.

Monks' and library attic

Sint-Pietersabdij's two attic rooms can accommodate 141 people each. Their solid wooden trusses only benefit the acoustics.

Both Sint-Pietersabdij's downstairs and attic rooms are spacious and equipped, making them available for festive occasions as well as meetings, conferences, lectures, presentations, information sessions ...

Catering 

You are free to choose the caterer. For a simple lunch, sandwiches or coffee and cake you can visit the Pietersbar.

Parking

Located near the E17/E40 exit complex, Sint-Pietersabdij in Ghent is very easy to reach. Parking is available in front of the door, in the underground car park on Sint-Pietersplein.
