It’s very possible that your make-up artist won’t be available all day, and your tears of joy might still leave you with smudged eyeliner—not to mention all the kissing you’ll be doing on your big day! To make sure you look fresh throughout, it’s best to bring a touch-up kit.
These are the 5 absolute must-haves to keep in your make-up bag on your wedding day. Keep them close, and you’ll look fresh all day long!
1. Blotting paper
A true lifesaver! Whether you’re the star of the dance floor or hosting a ceremony in the garden on a beautiful sunny day, make sure you never end up looking like a shiny disco ball. Gently press the blotting paper onto any areas where you shine or sweat, and it will absorb excess oil without ruining your make-up! You can buy them in booklets of 20 to 50 sheets—more than enough to last all day. My favorites? Shiseido Pureness Blotting Papers; they do the job perfectly!
2. Lipstick
Stay away from those awful 24-hour lipsticks that leave stains here and there—or worse, emphasize the fine lines on your lips. Just bring your lipstick or lip gloss with you, and touch up before the photo shoot, the reception, and dinner. And don’t be afraid to kiss your brand-new spouse!
3. Perfume
If you want to wear your favorite perfume on your wedding day, you can ask for a sample at the perfumery. That way, you can wear your signature scent without having to carry the whole bottle with you. Also, deodorant is definitely recommended on a warm day!
4. Beige eyeliner
As the day goes on, there will come a point when you start to feel tired. Even if you don’t feel it mentally, after a few glasses of champagne and all the excitement around you, your eyes may start to look a bit red and fatigued. Applying eyeliner in a natural shade like beige on the waterline will open up your eyes and instantly give you a fresher look again. Personally, I love Chanel eyeliner—it lasts a long time and has the perfect color.
5. Blush or bronzer
With all the kissing you’ll be receiving and giving, the make-up on your cheeks will be the first to fade. A quick touch-up with blush or bronzer is a great idea. After all, you’ll want to look radiant all day long!
