1. Take care of your nails
A beautiful manicure starts with nails in top condition, because nail stylists are great, but unfortunately they can’t work miracles. So make sure that—once your husband-to-be gets down on one knee—your hands and nails are always glowing. Make sure you get enough vitamin D, and avoid nail-biting at all costs. Wear plastic gloves if you often have to do the dishes, and use a hand cream daily.
2. Start getting manicures well before your wedding day
Are you a nail-biter? Then start weekly manicures about 8 to 6 weeks before your wedding day. Nicely trimmed and filed nails, well-groomed cuticles, and a protective polish will encourage you to take better care of your nails—and maybe even stop biting them.
Not a nail-biter and are your nails already in great shape? Then about 1 to 2 manicures before your wedding day will be enough.

3. Hand cream to the rescue
Hand cream is the miracle product for beautiful hands. Put a tube in your handbag and apply a nourishing, caring cream regularly. You’ll notice that well-hydrated hands always look their best!
4. Choosing a color
Try out a few nail polish colors in advance. With so many shades available today, one will simply make you a little happier than another. Plus, not every shade of pink suits every skin tone.
5. Bring your own nail polish
Bring your chosen nail polish color to the nail salon where you’re getting your manicure, so you can be sure your ring will slide onto a perfectly polished finger.

6. Buy at least two bottles of nail polish
Be prepared and buy three bottles of your favorite color: one to take to the salon for your manicures, one for the day itself, and one to take on your honeymoon. That way, you can touch up your polish at any time.
7. Go for a gel polish manicure
With gel polish, your nails first get a regular manicure and are then painted in your favorite color. On top of that, a special top coat is applied that makes your polish extra strong and longer-lasting. Your freshly painted nails are cured under a special lamp. If you’re a bit careful with your nails, gel nails can stay beautiful for about two to three weeks. Perfect for your big day and your honeymoon—also on your toes!
8. Find a good nail stylist
Look for a nail stylist you feel comfortable with, so you can show up on your wedding day with perfectly manicured hands. Lauren Bracke will make sure you—and your nails—shine from head to toe on your wedding day.
