The next morning, the team is ready to take care of everything. ‘The hours just before the ceremony are always hugely special to me ,’ shares the event manager. "I vividly remember how a bride got ready in the room with her bridesmaids and two daughters last year. An intimate event that flooded me with love."
"Next, I got to escort the bride through our underground tunnels. These originally belong to the monastery and are mostly used today as access roads to the spa and for logistics transport. At weddings, we like to use them as an extra element of surprise, to create a wow moment where the groom and guests only see the bride at the start of the ceremony."
Intimate reception and culinary dinner
‘After the ceremony in our majestic fifteenth-century chapel, the couple's local parish church or another location of their choice, we invite guests to the rectory garden for an intimate reception,’ adds the event manager. In the garden, you completely forget you are in the centre of Antwerp. Overlooking St George's Church, it is a beautiful fairy-tale setting to greet your guests.
"When evening falls, we welcome everyone to the Amaryllis room for a sumptuous dinner. From a classic dinner to an oyster bar or live cooking, anything is possible. Together with Viki Geunes, the three-Michelin-starred chef of Zilte restaurant, we fulfil your tastiest catering wishes. Under his supervision, Silverspoon's team serves culinary masterpieces. After a delicious dinner, the dance party can begin. We then transform the Amaryllis room into a romantic dance floor - or the chapel into a real party space."
Those who want can spend the night at the hotel after this special day and share fond memories with family and friends at the breakfast table. ‘Getting married at the Botanic Sanctuary Antwerp thus becomes a total experience,’ the event manager concludes with a smile. ‘And that makes it unforgettable.’
