When should you throw the wedding bouquet?
There is no fixed timing for throwing the bouquet at a wedding, but it usually fits well during these times:
After the reception, when the atmosphere becomes more relaxed.
During the evening party, perhaps between dance moments or after the opening dance.
Just before or after cutting the cake, as a nice interlude.
The most important thing is that the moment feels natural and that enough guests are present. Also consider the location: a spacious area outdoors or indoors with some distance from the DJ or dance floor is ideal.
How to announce the bouquet toss at your wedding?
With a master of ceremonies or DJ:
Have them gather the guests with a short announcement, such as: “All singles, step forward! The bride is ready with her bouquet...”
Without a master of ceremonies:
Request a microphone from the DJ or speak loudly and clearly.
Keep it light and enthusiastic: “We have a special tradition... Who will catch the bouquet and be next?”
Ask guests to form a circle or half-circle so everyone stands well.
Do you have a live band? Ask them to add soft background music or playful drum rolls! Important: ensure your photographer and/or videographer captures the moment!

Do you ask for the bouquet back?
Traditionally, you give the bouquet as a gift to the person who catches it. It’s a symbolic gesture and a pleasant surprise. Nowadays, the bouquet is often returned to the couple so they can keep it after the wedding.
Do you want to keep your bouquet and avoid potential damage from tossing it? Have a separate 'toss bouquet' made. It’s a smaller, simpler version of your real wedding bouquet, specifically for this moment. Some florists offer this as a standard option with wedding flowers.
Summary
Throwing your bouquet is a playful moment that's easy to organize. Decide in advance when it fits into your schedule, who will announce it, and whether you need a second bouquet. This way, it becomes a fun memory with great symbolic value.
