Follow your theme
Your theme colourshould ideally hold the middle ground between all the colour variations you will use throughout your wedding journey and wedding day. If you opt for a real ‘theme’, also consider the colour palette that best suits it. For example, if you prefer a retro atmosphere, go back in time with a dash of black and white, complemented by the red-orange of the setting sun and the fresh orange of oranges. Or maybe you're just a fan of bohemian style? Then go full-on for one or more bright colours like bright pink or purple, and finish with a fresh yellow.
Consider the season
The season in which you get married also has something beautiful to offer in terms of colours. Every season has a few touches that can add value to what you have in mind. Are you getting married in the cooler autumn? Then dark colours such as emerald green, navy blue or mustard shades with orange are ideal theme colours for your wedding. If you are getting married in spring or summer, don't be afraid to go for bright colours like mint green, lemon yellow or fuchsia.
Spot the trends
Are you a real trendsetter? Or do you prefer to research the latest fashion trends yourself? If you prefer to play it safe, opt for more neutral colours, which are completely timeless and create a calm atmosphere. Which you can then complement with colour accents to your own taste.
Know your type
Maybe you are a distinct summer or winter type, and have known for years what colours flatter you most? Your chosen colour palette may also be reflected in the details of your clothing, or in your bridal bouquet, for example. Even the groom's tie or bow tie is often chosen in the same colour as one of the theme colours.
Go for timeless
Can't decide which theme colour(s) are right for your wedding? Then go for timeless. Go for a romantic light pink, or a soft blue undertone. Combine gold or metallic tones with warm navy blue, or pulse how a black and white creation, possibly finished with a foil print in silver, can make a striking announcement for you...
