A shared memory full of emotions
Rocio will never forget the moment she photographed her first destination wedding: "One of my best friends got married in Colombia. I took her photos and realised: “this is it”. Something special happens during a destination wedding. You're not just together at a party, you share several days with each other and that creates a bond – from the welcome dinner and joint outings to the relaxed brunch after the party. Your wedding becomes an experience and a shared memory with smiling faces, long conversations and spontaneous hugs in unexpected places."

When people travel, they also let go of their routine and dare to feel more. The difference with a wedding in your own country is mainly in the mindset. Rocio explains: “Your guests are on holiday. They have time, they are relaxed and they experience everything more intensely.”
So the charm of a destination wedding is not just about the location. Rocio has travelled to Bali, New York, Tuscany and Ibiza, among other places. However, her fondest memories are often of lesser-known places: "An intimate setting, warm light, a relaxed atmosphere and lots of emotions: that's where the real magic lies."

Sincere images start with a sincere connection
What Rocio does goes far beyond photography. She is deeply involved in every wedding she captures. "I want to get to know you – not just as a couple, but also as people," she says. That's why she always schedules a personal video call, followed by separate phone calls with both of you and, if desired, with your parents.

During these conversations, she asks about your story: how you met, what you admire about each other and what moments you are most looking forward to on your wedding day. "On the morning of the wedding, I quietly read through my notes again. That way, I know what to look out for and can capture exactly what is most important to you."
That openness and connection results in unique images: a glance between father and daughter, a tender encounter between family members who haven't seen each other in years, and so on.

Being present, at every moment
On your big day, Rocio is not only a photographer but also a reassuring presence, an extra pair of hands and eyes, and sometimes even a lifesaver. "I once sewed the bride's wedding dress," she laughs. "You never know what the day will bring."

"I stay at the location for a few days and arrive well in advance to capture the moments before the ceremony... A first tear wiped away by the mother when the bride puts on her dress, a heartfelt hug between the groom and his best man, and the silence before the big moment."

As a destination photographer, Rocio sees every location with fresh eyes: "I look with wonder, like a child seeing something new. Where others walk past an old gate or a ray of sunshine between the trees, I see the perfect light. I travel with them and see the magic in what others take for granted."
