Wooded domain in the Ardennes
Steven says: "As soon as you enter the domain, you immediately get a wonderfully relaxed feeling - if only because of its large size. Next to the castle, situated in the middle of a forest, runs a river, a branch of the Wamme. You are in the Ardennes woods and it really feels like a holiday - perfect for a blissful wedding weekend. As a Fleming myself, I have lived in the Ardennes for about five years now, and every time I drive onto the domain I still get that same feeling. All the guests agree. The beautiful location and the peace and quiet of the castle and the private nature reserve... you don't come across that often. You can always go for a walk in the woods here before or after the wedding. We have two different walks around the domain: the smaller loop of 2.5 to 3 km is ideal as a morning walk. The larger walk is about five km."

Romantic castle with authentic elements
At Château Jemeppe, you'll feel like you're in another time... or in a fairy tale. Steven: "Château Jemeppe is a real fairytale castle: the moat around it and its romantic aura confirm this. The castle was built in the 13th century as a border post between Liège and the then Grand Duchy of Luxembourg (now the 'province'of Luxembourg). Fifteen years ago, it was completely renovated. All authentic elements were preserved and restored in the process. This ensures that when you enter the castle, you immediately sense the nostalgia of yesteryear. You can alsotakebeautiful wedding photos in the various salons with authentic interiors, as wellas in the period gardens with narrow paths."

Spend the night in a castle room
What do people do on a wedding weekend? Have a great time together with family and friends and... stay the night! That's no problem at Château Jemeppe. Steven: "We have 65 rooms, so we can accommodate a lot of guests. If that's not enough, we work with a regular partner to provide 'glamping' tents with all the comforts - including box-spring beds! - which are set up in fairy-tale style around the castle. We also provide eleven castle rooms, including the large presidential suite for the bridal couple. The most beautiful room in the castle is obviously for them," Steven laughs.

About Château Jemeppe
Steven and his team assist couples in all areas. They set everything up and completely unburden couples so that they can enjoy themselves to the fullest. "We always listen to the couple's wishes. Based on those conversations, we make sure everything runs smoothly. In the process,Château Jemeppe's chef provides delicious tailor-made catering. When they visit the castle, the couple is given an extensive tour and I show them all the possible spaces for their ceremony, dinner and party. Do they want an outdoor ceremony on the lawn, with a beautiful view of the castle, or in the romantic courtyard? In less good weather, we move the ceremony and reception to the farmhouse - also very beautiful and cosy. While the castle, the chapel and the beautiful wine cellar with vaults are rather on the small side for parties, the farmstead with its lounge and large party room is perfect for dinners and dance parties. The possibilities here are truly endless. The couple completely decides what they want; we are 100% flexible."
