The history of Domein 't Eikennest
Since 1920, the Dewulf family has been running the estate. It was grandson Peter’s idea to transform the location into a wonderfully cosy, warm venue where you can experience some of the most unique wedding celebrations in the Westhoek. Peter and Hilde changed the estate’s name to Domein 't Eikennest, inspired by a poem by Guido Gezelle: “Nest means warmth,” Hilde explains. “We want people to feel here as if they’re in a warm nest, where the door is always open to everyone and a true family atmosphere prevails.”

A weekend getaway
In 2010, Peter began the renovation works on the 5-hectare estate of Domein 't Eikennest. He renovated the event hall and provided accommodation for 30 guests in 8 double rooms. As newlyweds, you’ll enjoy luxury and privacy in the bridal suite, in a separate cosy cottage on the estate. In April 2018, the brand-new marquee opened, which can host groups of up to 200 people for a seated dinner. With even a little shop and a deer meadow on the estate, and the delicious, extensive brunch Hilde prepares for you, you’ll truly feel like you’re on holiday during your wedding weekend in the Westhoek...

International fame
Thanks to the area’s rich war history, international couples and families are also increasingly finding their way to the Westhoek. From the guest rooms, you can even admire the historic IJzertoren. Tip: if you’d like to plan a guided tour or scenic flight with your guests along the former front line, Bert Degrauwe’s Battlefields1 team has an interesting range of tours ready for you.
A venue for every season
In spring and summer, as a couple getting married at Domein 't Eikennest, you’ll especially enjoy the stunning garden and pond. Your ceremony can take place there with views over the West Flemish polder landscape, and you can even consider dining outdoors. Thanks to ’t Eikennest’s warm interior, the sparkling lights illuminating the driveway, and the large heated marquee, the location is also perfect for a magical winter wedding. The deer on the estate give your winter wonderland wedding a magical touch, and when the pond is frozen and the grass is covered in a thin layer of snow, you’ll feel as though you’ve stepped into a fairytale.
Peter and Hilde are happy to host your dream wedding. With great passion and pleasure, they’ll give you an extensive tour of Domein 't Eikennest and answer your most pressing questions.
