Faraway places
In 2025, honeymooners will prefer to head to faraway places. Road trips through New Zealand or South Africa, soaking up the beautiful nature and culture in Mexico, Bali or Taiwan and unwinding on a beach in the Maldives, Mauritius or Zanzibar ... The honeymoon is once again seen as the time to head out to a faraway dream destination. In contrast, European destinations also remain popular in 2025, with the top favourites being the Greek islands, including especially Zakynthos and Mykonos.
Romance with a touch of action
For many couples, their honeymoon is a trip to enjoy their celebration together and have a lot of quality time with each other. While in 2024 couples opted more often for a completely relaxing trip, the House of Weddings honeymoon survey for 2025 shows another return to a very romantic trip. Indeed, 95% of all couples want a honeymoon packed with romantic activities. With that, most couples also like it to be a bit more active, with a strong preference for soaking up local culture and travelling around. Couples in 2025 are also up for more sporting activities and food tours.
To the sun!
In our 2025 honeymoon survey, we again see how important the sun is for couples on honeymoon. As in 2024, there is an overwhelming majority (85%) who say there should be sun security on their honeymoon. The summer months are also once again popular. June to September are most often chosen to go on honeymoon. In addition, honeymooners do go all year round, with a slight increase in January, April and December.
Minimoons
In 2025, newlyweds will postpone their honeymoon slightly more often and opt for a short trip just after their wedding: a minimoon! By spending a few days in a warm destination or going on a short city trip or wellness weekend, newlyweds will soon enjoy their quality time together and take more time to plan their honeymoon. 21% of our respondents are already married and have not yet gone on a honeymoon.

Then if you are crossing the Canadian border by car, bus or train, you do not need to apply for an eTA in advance.

Australia is a continent in itself and has a lot of diversity.
