While some brides still opt for a boho chic look, in 2024 we’re seeing a classic, timeless look make a stronger comeback. The focus is on fresh, natural makeup, with eyeshadow beautifully brightening the eyes. Lauren: “Heavy makeup looks with dark shades and harsh lines are more or less a thing of the past. A ‘glowy’ makeup look is also less trendy right now—and it tends to be less long-lasting too. What’s gaining huge popularity instead is a ‘matte’ makeup look, also known as ‘cloud skin’. The skin looks matte yet radiant. It isn’t always easy to achieve—good skincare and a professional makeup artist are key—but it looks beautiful and flawless_.”_
Sleek and elegant chignons
We also see this timeless trend in 2024 in sleek buns or sleek chignons. Lauren: “This trend stems from the stunning, inspiring wedding of Sophia Richie. The hairstyle isn’t about volume, but about sleekness. That way, the makeup stands out even more. What we no longer see in 2024, on the other hand, are braids. They were a real hit for a few years; today, however, there are plenty of other options to create texture and depth in the hair.”
Statement jewelry
Since the bridal look in 2024 is primarily very natural, it’s perfectly fine to go all out with statement jewelry alongside it. “Think: headbands, over-the-top earrings, big bows, colorful accents, … You can’t go wrong with minimalist accessories. But it can be a little more to complement the overall look beautifully,” Lauren shares.
Matching bridesmaids
For your bridesmaids, in 2024 it’s still a lovely ‘mini-event’ to get ready together with you in the morning—ideally in matching ‘getting ready outfits’. Great for the atmosphere and the photos! Lauren explains what else is ‘in’ for the rest of your day: “Give your bridal party a color palette and a length for their dresses. Not every woman looks good in the same color and the same cut. By letting them choose from a color palette and possible lengths, everyone will feel comfortable and truly shine on your big day. You’ll be able to clearly read the positive vibes on everyone’s face!”
