Marriage proposal above the Paris rooftops
Dries proposed to “his” Lindsay on March 27, 2022 in… Paris! Lindsay shares: “Dries proposed to me on the terrace of L’Oiseau Blanc, The Peninsula’s rooftop restaurant. It was a beautiful moment, so romantic… Of course, I said ‘Yes!’ wholeheartedly.”

Taking the reins
Iiiit’s wedding planning time! Lindsay took on the entire preparation of their wedding celebration. She says: “I planned our wedding completely on my own and searched for all our suppliers. I found most wedding suppliers via House of Weddings and Google, or through people I knew. When choosing our suppliers, I mainly followed my gut feeling. Everything starts with mutual trust.”
That approach proved successful. “We had a really great collaboration and bond with all our suppliers!”, Lindsay looks back with satisfaction.
Dream dress from JPC Collection
Lindsay found her dream dress at JPC Collection in Antwerp, from the brand Milla Nova. She found her shoes at Versace in Paris. Lindsay completed her look with jewelry from Juwelier Yzerbyt in Sint-Kruis.

The Big Day
On May 25, 2024, the time had finally come: Lindsay and Dries’ big day had arrived! Lindsay’s hair and makeup were done by Hair & More by Karine Uvijn. Lindsay: “Karine is a good friend of mine. I knew I could trust her completely, and she did an amazing job!”

When they were both completely ready, it was time for Lindsay and Dries’ first look! During this moment, they saw each other for the first time in their full wedding outfits, surrounded by their closest friends and family.

Arrival by horse & carriage
After the first look, Lindsay and Dries headed to the town hall for their civil ceremony. And they did so with a very special wedding ride: by horse and carriage!

Ceremony with live music
After the ceremony, the newlyweds and their closest family and friends made their way to Hoeve Engelendael, where the ceremony took place. The ceremony was led by celebrant Steven Goegebeur. Singer Joke Derre from the band Miss Lemon Drop provided beautiful live music in between, making the ceremony even more personal and meaningful.

Warm reception & a dinner full of spontaneity
After the beautiful ceremony, the reception, dinner, and dance party also took place at Hoeve Engelendael in Sint-Laureins. Choosing this venue perfectly matched Lindsay’s wish for a relaxed wedding day without surprises. Lindsay shares: “There were no surprises, and that’s exactly what I wanted. Everything went smoothly and yet still felt spontaneous. Our friends and family still talk about it today as the most beautiful wedding they’ve ever attended. It was complete without being ‘chichi’ or ‘blasé’.”
The atmospheric reception and delicious dinner were provided by SJB Catering. Lindsay: “The catering was led by Sander-Jan Beirens. His wife Elien Claeys also took care of the organization and styling, including the tent, furniture, and decoration. Together, they make a top team!”

Party with DJ Tom!
DJ Tom delivered a spectacular dance party after dinner. Lighting and sound were provided by Lennert Cools of Nobilis Technical Event Support. The fantastic music and ambiance perfectly matched the spontaneous character of the day.
Lindsay looks back with satisfaction: “What made our wedding day unique was the whole, the feeling, and the atmosphere. Everyone truly wanted to make our day a top day, and that’s exactly what it became!”

Lindsay’s advice for engaged couples
Lindsay is happy to share her top tips for future couples:
“Start planning early and take enough time to plan everything.”
“Follow your gut feeling and bring your own personality into your wedding celebration, even if you’re working with a wedding planner.”
“Don’t make your schedule too tight. Leave enough room, for example in case the reception runs a bit longer.”

The entire House of Weddings team warmly congratulates Lindsay and Dries and wishes them lots of love and happiness for the future!
