1. As many and as few as you want
There are a lot of guidelines for how many bridesmaids a wedding can have. We assume a maximum of 12. An even number of bridesmaids or groomsmen ensures balance in your wedding photos, but if a few extra friends make you happy: go for it! Your wedding photographer will surely provide a creative solution and beautiful photos of you and your bridal squad. Most importantly, you have the bridesmaids with whom you are only too happy to share your unique day with - no matter how many there may be. You decide!
2. Trust as a motivating factor
Make a list of friends and (in-law) family members you feel really good about and trust. Finally, you might want to delegate some tasks to your bridesmaids, and you'll want to be able to count on them. Do you like toask your best male friend too? Definitely do, by the way, nowadays totally on-trend to let gender not be an influencing factor!
3. Organisational talent above!
Who would be enthusiastic about helping with the organisation of your bachelorette party and some tasks before, during and after your wedding day? It's nice if your bridesmaids are helpful, encouraging and reliable. So think about who would really want -and be able- to help you.
4. A role for everyone
You can also integrate non-bride girls into your script. This way, you can give other important people a role that they themselves will be happy with. Have someone read something during the ceremony, escort your guests to their seats, play a piece of music or help you get dressed for your wedding. Younger children can be engaged as bridesmaids, by having them strew flower petals or bring your wedding rings.
5. Surprise effect
Even with the above tips, it takes a lot of thought to put together the perfect bridal party . Therefore, do not announce who you would like to attend until you are sure of your choice. Do this by asking them in an original way, as this is how you will make the moment unforgettable. Some tips on how to go about this can be found here.
