1. Lace explosion
Lace will also be impossible to ignore next year. On the contrary, if there is one element that defines the 2027 wedding dress trends, it is this rich mix of lace in different forms and layers. Designers are creating more depth and detail than ever, with: loose lace flowers and motifs that seem to float above the fabric, delicate layers of Chantilly lace over transparent tulle, elegantly wavy or semicircular edge finishes (also known as scalloped or “scallop” edges), lace with noticeable relief and extra texture.
Designers are also combining lace on lace, such as a lace top on a lace skirt or a lace jacket over a lace dress. These textured and expressive looks feel romantic, without necessarily being classic.
2. The corset sets the tone

Layers of tulle, pleated satin, jacquard fabrics with woven relief patterns and ruffles in all shapes create dresses with lots of movement. Combinations of different fabrics in one dress, such as soft organza next to sturdy mikado with a subtle sheen or lace over transparent tulle, give the dress extra depth. 7. Delicate bows
Bows remain popular, although in 2027 they are used more subtly. Where we saw many large statement bows in recent years, the new collections show a shift toward smaller, carefully placed details. Think of a delicate bow at the waist, on the shoulder or along the bodice. For those who still want a striking detail, the large bow certainly remains an option.
8. One dress, multiple looks
Detachable overskirts, separate sleeves, adjustable trains and interchangeable elements on the bodice make it easy for one dress to create multiple looks. For example, you can get married in a long, voluminous bridal gown and transform it effortlessly into a lighter version for the evening reception. Ideal for those who want a grand effect during the ceremony and comfort on the dance floor, without changing dresses. Of course, that last option is also possible; and multiple bridal outfits will certainly continue to grow in popularity in 2027.
9. Basque waist & drop waist: the waist as a focal point
The waist gets extra attention in 2027. The drop waist places the waistline lower on the hips, making the silhouette appear longer. The basque waist, on the other hand, has a pointed or V-shaped waist and emphasizes the transition between the bodice and the skirt. Both give the dress more structure and lengthen your figure. We especially see the versatile basque waist returning often, both in ball gowns and mermaid dresses.
10. Beading & pearls
Beading or ‘beading’ is a striking wedding dress trend for 2027. Fine beads run from the bodice to the hem across the entire dress, while pearls delicately adorn or even fully cover sleeves, bodices and veils. Tonal beading, where the beading is the same shade as the fabric, also appears frequently. This trend creates a subtle shine and a luxurious effect - an impressive piece of craftsmanship!
11. Shimmer & shine
In addition to beading, we also see a broader glitter & glamour trend: woven metallic threads, crystals, sequins and delicate embroidery catch the light with every movement. What is especially new this year is the combination with matte fabrics, such as shine next to soft crepe or sturdy mikado fabric. This creates a refined play of light and a subtle glitter effect.
12. Sleeves & gloves as a statement
Sleeves are once again attracting attention in 2027. Long lace sleeves, puff sleeves that start on or just below the shoulder and detachable versions instantly give your dress a different look. Long lace gloves are also making a comeback. They lengthen the line of the arm and add an elegant, couture-like touch to the whole.
13. Headpieces, veils and neck scarves
Neck scarves in chiffon or satin, vintage-inspired headpieces, romantic ‘Juliet caps’ that fit closely around the head, long veils with a lace edge, ... accessories are no side note in 2027.
