1. Feminine bridal fashion
Romance, elegance, and sensuality are the three main ingredients for next year's bridal fashion. This translates into beautiful, extravagant capes that gracefully follow the back line. On the catwalk, we see all kinds of sleeves popping up, as well as subtly incorporated diamonds, pearls, and 3D flowers. Lace wedding dresses remain trendy in 2018, this year with a thorough see-through effect: the ultimate tribute to femininity.

2. Pantone Violet
- Greenery and earthy tones will be followed by a true explosion of color in 2018. Give your wedding ‘a touch of purple’ with Ultra Violet (see our House of Weddings Pinterest board). The new Pantone color can be perfectly combined with pastel, gold tones, trendy copper, crystal, and metallic at your wedding. Go for that luxurious table arrangement, that colorful wedding bouquet, or that daring wedding dress.
3. Flower power
Flower power was hot in 2017 and still is in 2018! Playful bridal bouquets, ceremonial backdrops, a botanical wedding garden with tents... The more floral and green decorations, the better! Opt for a bohemian-style wedding, with a profusion of flowers that appear to be casually arranged—but are actually perfectly planned. Mix and match different types of wood for the chairs and tables, place cards, and go back-to-nature in the details too.
4. Hanging flowers
Your walls, counters, and even ceilings deserve your attention in 2018. A multitude of fresh plants in vertical and hanging constructions add an extra green, trendy touch to your wedding. Floral creations are a dynamic eye-catcher above the dance floor or dining tables and fill the walls of many tents or trendy bar constructions.

From huge wedding parties to a personal ceremony with a ceremony speaker. Couples are increasingly choosing to celebrate their vows in a more intimate way, both literally and figuratively. This sometimes results in a smaller guest list, which also means you'll have more budget left over for the things you really want. A wedding weekend with all your guests? Yes, please!
6. See-through effect
Couples who love a sleek, minimalist style will certainly find what they are looking for in transparent styling effects. In 2018, we are seeing an increase in see-through elements in both the setting and the decor. Getting married in an open banquet hall or see-through tent made largely of glass, with clean lines and lots of light.

Scandinavian interiors have been particularly popular in recent years. We are also seeing these clean lines and minimalist designs increasingly in wedding styling, often in combination with warm colors, natural materials, and soft flowers. Geometric lines and shapes give the party a modern look without feeling cold.
8. Unique food experiences
Couples try to surprise their guests with their wedding menu, increasingly opting for innovative, trendy food trends from around the world. On the menu for 2018: interactive food stations where you can roll your own sushi, typical Mexican or Peruvian dishes (and cocktails!), organic short-chain alternatives, family recipes, or creative dessert tables with healthy desserts.
9. Interactive wedding experience
Incorporate original and interactive elements to make your wedding day unforgettable! A photo booth (with or without a ‘booth’) with playful props and a creative backdrop, a trendy Polaroid camera to capture your most beautiful moments, or Instagram Boomerang videos and GIFs for a touch of humor.
All of these are fantastic memories that the couple can send to their guests afterwards as a thank you. In 2018, it's all about the unique and loving experience with family and friends.
10. Destination weddings
Now that the world is our village and we can get to Barcelona faster than Antwerp, more and more couples are finding their way to a wedding abroad. It's not just Provence or Tuscany that appeal to us as Belgians, but other countries within and outside Europe are also coming into our sights: Ibiza, Croatia, Mallorca, even Thailand and Curaçao!
