Passion for fashion
“I've had a passion for fashion since I was a child,” Dianna says enthusiastically. "My mother had a small studio where she made waterproof clothing for other stores. When the seamstresses went home and my mother wasn't around, I would sneak behind one of the sewing machines. Because I couldn't reach the pedals as a little girl, my sister would help me operate them while I sewed (laughs)."

“I was seven when I cut the pattern out of the fabric without a pattern and then sewed it together. Back then, it was dresses for our dolls, and in my teens, my own dresses,” she muses.
“I was only 21 when our business was born. Full of enthusiasm, and with a husband who always believed in me, I surrounded myself with people who shared my passion. I learned everything from older ladies who had mastered the craft 100%.”

The early years
“Initially, we started with jewelry, handbags, and hats. Later, we added our own clothing collections, which were sold in the better fashion stores in Belgium,” says Dianna. “In 1982, we decided to sell directly to our customers through our own business. This allowed us to offer the entire collection and guarantee the best service.”
“When we started the business 35 years ago, the industry thought we were crazy. ‘Now? Starting a studio here when everyone else is leaving?’ We must have heard that a hundred times,” Dianna continues. “Fortunately, our collections and our way of working appealed to the public.”

This is Belgian
Dianna David consciously supports the Belgian economy and only produces wedding dresses, tuxedos, and women's clothing in her own studio. With 100% European fabrics of the highest quality and a great passion for the craft.
“Fortunately, I always persevered,” says Dianna. “I was absolutely convinced that customization is important in our industry. And it has paid off. Over the past few years, we have found a way to work quickly and efficiently. All designs see the light of day in our own studio here in Belgium. ‘Dit is Belgisch’ even compared us to Armani once!”

About the brides-to-be
“Our brides want a unique, personalized dress above all else,” explains Dianna. “A beautiful fabric with a high-quality finish and, of course, tailor-made for them. We notice that it is mainly women with strong personalities who come to us, women with sufficient self-knowledge who know what they want.”

“For us, the most important thing is that the bride trusts our honest advice,” Dianna continues passionately. "Because we always start from scratch, we can work perfectly towards what the bride has in mind. When we design a wedding dress, we always start from our collection. However, we think it's very important that the bride can try everything on and see what suits her and what doesn't. Based on this information, we design a personalized dress together with the bride. Our customers come to us with very high expectations, and the trick is to be able to meet them every time. The best compliment? When the bride sees her dress and says, ‘This is exactly what I wanted!’"
