How do you organise a wedding at such a large venue?
A reception venue with several spaces opens up a world of possibilities, both literally and figuratively. Dominique explains how the team at ‘t Convent approaches it: “We always start with a tour of the estate, showing you around in detail so you can picture your day here. Once you’ve made your decision, we arrange a meeting to talk about your style, your wishes and the atmosphere you want for your wedding or wedding weekend. Of course, we also take your budget into account.”

Step by step, the plans start to take shape. “Because the estate is so large, it can be difficult to picture everything straight away. That’s why we actively guide you and help you think about how to use the different spaces to create a harmonious whole, even over several days.”
Your ceremony among the vines and by the pond
The ceremony sets the tone for the rest of your day. At the estate, you can choose the spot that will make this moment shine. “Many couples choose the lawn or a space among the trees. The vines, trees, flowers and pond make a beautiful setting for a welcome reception or ceremony. If the weather is less favourable, the greenhouse offers just as much light and a lovely view of the garden. There are so many possibilities that almost no two celebrations here are alike,” Dominique explains.

How do the rooms connect?
At ’t Convent, the different highlights of your wedding day flow naturally from one to the next. “Our reception venue has many different spaces that nevertheless form a cohesive whole,” Dominique explains. “The Vleteren room, for example, is large and modern, while the Lo-Reninge room has a warmer feel thanks to its wooden beams. The movable partitions allow us to separate the spaces or, conversely, bring them together. This means we can adapt their size to your needs and your concept.”
This makes it easy to arrange the venue to suit your wishes. “Everything connects seamlessly, creating a natural flow. The spaces are modern and beautifully renovated. It’s all these little details together that complete the picture,” Dominique adds.

Enjoy the outdoors, even when you’re inside
The outdoor spaces are used in different ways throughout the day, and the transition between indoors and outdoors feels completely natural. Dominique explains: “We often start with an intimate lunch after the preparations. It’s a chance to relax a little before the festivities begin. The venue is also a beautiful setting for the drinks reception. The large windows look wonderful in photos and bring the outdoors in. We can open the windows to connect the terrace and the room. Even when the weather is less pleasant, you still feel as though you’re outside.”

Celebrate in the crypt
Many couples choose to host their welcome reception or after-party at De Crypte. “De Crypte has a completely different style from the other rooms. With its vaulted ceilings, bar and DJ area, it immediately creates a whole different atmosphere. It’s also fully equipped, with a professional lighting and sound system. The party can really get going without disturbing anyone,” Dominique explains.

Take your time and keep the celebrations going
After the party, you can extend those special moments together, especially if you’re having a multi-day wedding. ‘t Convent also offers accommodation for twenty guests. Dominique explains: “The cellarium can be used in different ways. It can serve as a backstage area for suppliers or as a breakfast room for guests staying overnight after an unforgettable party. With its vaulted ceilings, this space has a very welcoming atmosphere. It’s a chance to spend a little more time together before everyone heads home.”
Whether you choose a single day or a whole wedding weekend, every moment finds its place here. You can even make a memorable entrance using the estate’s helipad!
