Here you can see some people in love who are so determined to propose to their partner that they couldn't resist doing it with a grand gesture—and a large audience! The most commonly used song for a proposal is Bruno Mars's lovely Marry You, but a few chose a different tune to surprise their loved one.
In London, with style...
In Vancouver, Canada, with red roses...
But how do you organize a flash mob marriage proposal?
Find your dance troupe
The dancers don't necessarily have to be professionals. As long as they're up for it and enthusiastic about sharing this special moment with you. You can contact a few dance schools and studios in your neighborhood, or maybe some of your friends or family members are natural talents? A fun way to make your proposal even more personal, right? Of course, you can also look online to put together your crew. Make sure you clearly communicate when you plan to propose. Feel free to pass on the responsibility of head choreographer to someone with more experience if you don't consider yourself experienced enough to perform this task. Also, consider whether you want to be part of the entire show or if you'd rather make a last-minute appearance.
Choose your song
You know better than anyone how to make your loved one melt. The song you danced to when you first met? The theme song from your favorite movie? A nostalgic classic? Make a thoughtful choice and stick with it.
Choose the time and place where you want to propose
Flash mobs, by definition, take place in public: a park, a station, a shopping center... Choose a location that is suitable for your act and take into account the number of passers-by that may be there at that time.
Plan a rehearsal, or give very clear instructions
Flash mob dance moves don't have to be complicated. A tutorial (via video, for example) may therefore be enough to prepare your group. Of course, it's better if everyone can rehearse together—with you—before the big day.
Get your “victim” ready
Will you accompany your significant other to the place to be, or would you rather leave that task to a friend or family member?
Logistical planning
Make sure you have a good sound system at your disposal. Would you like a souvenir of the whole event? Then make sure someone captures everything on camera for you. A fantastic way to share this story with your children later on!
Feel free to share your fantastic stories and videos with House of Weddings! Make it an unforgettable day.
