An engagement ring with a future in mind
Jasper proposed to 'his' Marie-Sophie on March 31, 2024. He found the engagement ring at Scaldis in Kortrijk. While choosing the ring, Charlotte and Josephine helped Jasper think ahead about how the future wedding ring would match. Marie-Sophie says: “They chose an engagement ring together with a future wedding ring with diamonds—exactly what I wanted! Their service is top-notch! When the engagement ring needed to be resized after the proposal, Charlotte and Josephine from Scaldis arranged it quickly and smoothly.”

Personalized stationery
Time for wedding planning! Marie-Sophie and Jasper immediately gave a personal touch to their wedding, starting with the stationery. Marie-Sophie says: “Shortly after our engagement, we designed a logo that appeared on all printed materials: on our save the dates, invitations and stamps, the wedding candle and service booklets, the welcome sign, menus, gifts for our guests, and so on. Our printer Karte Letterpress executed this wonderfully. Everything became a beautiful ensemble that completely suited us.”

A touch of Italy
Marie-Sophie and Jasper's love for Italy was creatively incorporated into their wedding styling. “For seating arrangements, instead of traditional numbers, we used the names of Italian cities we have visited together over the past years. Because we both love Italy so much, this gave a personal touch to our celebration,” shares Marie-Sophie.

Jasper's shoes, purchased in Florence in the summer of 2024, were also a nod to their shared love for travel and Italy. Jasper's custom-made wedding suit was done at Café Costume. Marie-Sophie found her wedding dress at Prima Donna. The couple bought their wedding rings at Scaldis, perfectly complementing the engagement ring as planned.

Atmospheric floral styling by El Florido
Florist Myriam from El Florido provided atmospheric styling with flowers and candles. Marie-Sophie: “I passed on our mood board to Myriam, and she even exceeded our expectations! The decoration of the church, the bridal bouquet, the bouquets for the bridesmaids, the styling of the banquet hall, the vintage car, and so forth, everything was perfectly taken care of. El Florido made everything truly perfect!”

The Big Day!
On May 17, 2025, Marie-Sophie and Jasper had their civil marriage. A month and a half later, on July 5, 2025, was the big day of their church wedding and celebration.
They got ready with the help of an experienced beauty team: Beauté Paulette took care of Marie-Sophie's hair, her suite members and bridesmaids, while the makeup for Marie-Sophie, her mom, and mother-in-law was done by Celien Vanhoutte. La Vie d’Or took care of the makeup for the four bridesmaids.

First look & photoshoot in the Sterrebos
Once the bridal party was completely ready, Marie-Sophie and Jasper had a first look in Marie-Sophie’s parents' garden. Jasper: “It was one of the most beautiful moments of our wedding day when I first saw Marie-Sophie in her dress!”

Then the couple, along with their suite members and bridesmaids, did a photoshoot with wedding photographer Leyla Hesna in the provincial domain Sterrebos in Rumbeke, near Roeselare.

Needle, thread & Marie-Sophie’s grandmother to the rescue
However, after an hour, disaster struck: Marie-Sophie’s wedding dress ripped! She says: “When the slit of my dress suddenly tore, our ceremony master Dominiek was a real lifesaver. He was well-prepared for unexpected situations like this and had needle and thread with him. My grandmother sewed my dress back together, and thankfully, the tear was repaired. Our photographer Leyla Hesna beautifully captured this moment. What was stressful at the time is now quite funny to look back on.”

Church ceremony with pianist
After the photoshoot, Marie-Sophie and Jasper's church ceremony took place in the Sint-Michielskerk of Roeselare. Marie-Sophie says: “We selected all the songs for our ceremony ourselves, which were beautifully played in the church by a pianist. We found this much more personal and beautiful than playing music from a CD. Ceremony master Dominiek from Ceremonie Devolder expertly guided the celebration. Thanks to him, our entire day was seamless!”

“One of Jasper's most memorable moments of our wedding day was when I entered the church. For me, it was especially touching to hear the speeches from Jasper and my witness, a very good friend I've known since I was twelve.”, shares Marie-Sophie.

Couple photoshoot in Rozentuin
After the church service, the couple had another photoshoot with wedding photographer Leyla Hesna in the Rozentuin in Kortrijk. Marie-Sophie: “Our puppy Phoebe could be part of the photoshoot too; we were thrilled!”

Completely taken care of by Vaernewijck
After the service and couple photoshoot, the newlyweds and their close family and friends went to the venue: Vaernewijck. Upon arrival, all stress left the couple. Marie-Sophie: “Michael and Ruth from Vaernewijck completely took care of us once we arrived at the location. They guided us through the day, gave clear explanations of what was going to happen, and ensured everything went perfectly. Ruth even helped me arrange my dress each time I sat down.”

Upon entering the venue, the stunning styling immediately stood out, provided by florist Myriam from El Florido. “I was completely blown away by how atmospherically everything was decorated with all the flowers and candles,” reflects Marie-Sophie happily.

Reception with Iberico Ham and Gin & Tonic
The reception took place in the garden of Vaernewijck. “During the reception, freshly sliced Iberico ham, one of our favorite snacks, was served. Jasper even dreams of having such a beautiful slicer in the living room one day,” laughs Marie-Sophie. “There was also a Gin & Tonic bar with gin from a good friend of ours, where our guests could customize their drinks. It was very special for us that our puppy Phoebe could be present during the reception.”

Saxophonist All About Sax added extra atmosphere during the reception with fun songs, including ‘Sarà perché ti amo’, to which the couple later entered the reception hall for dinner.

Grand entrance and dinner in style
After the reception, it was time for the special entrance into the reception hall. “We had a large head table with our parents and close friends and chose to let them enter first with music. Once they were seated, it was our turn to make our entrance. This set the tone and was a very enjoyable moment!”, smiles Marie-Sophie.

Marie-Sophie continues: “The food was excellent! Our guests complimented us so much about it, even days after our party. Between the main course and dessert, mojito shots were served; mojitos hold a special meaning for us. When Jasper and I first got to know each other, we often drank mojitos together. It felt extra personal and instantly brought a lively atmosphere.”

Opening dance with personalized choreography
The atmosphere was already high when it was time for the opening dance after dinner—Marie-Sophie and Jasper’s favorite moment of their wedding day! “We took dance lessons for months with Jade and Rhune from Moving Memories. We didn’t want a traditional dance but something that truly suited us. When the moment came, everything went exactly as we practiced. We thoroughly enjoyed it and received so many lovely compliments from our family and friends afterwards,” laughs Marie-Sophie.

Then the dance party really started, with music provided by DJ Mathieu Santy and a photobooth from King of Smiles.

Relive the day through Leyla Hesna’s beautiful photos
“When we saw our wedding photos afterwards, it felt like reliving the entire day. Everything went so smoothly on the day itself that we barely noticed so many photos being taken. Now we forever have a wonderful collection of wedding photos where Leyla Hesna captured every special moment,” the couple looks back with satisfaction.

Top tip from Marie-Sophie & Jasper
Finally, the couple shares their golden advice for engaged couples: “Enjoy every minute of the day. Before you know it, it’s over. Let go of small mistakes. Something can always go wrong, but that makes your day extra unique and unforgettable. Everything will eventually turn out fine!”

Congratulations, Marie-Sophie and Jasper! Thank you for sharing your story with us. We wish you much love and happiness in the future!
