“Choosing your wedding dress is a very special experience,” begins Mari Fin. “It’s important to be completely relaxed and truly enjoy this beautiful moment. Therefore, start your search for the ideal wedding dress well in advance. I always recommend beginning your first fitting eight to ten months before your wedding date. This allows you time to try everything on, examine all the details, and focus on your feelings. This makes your search a stress-free and very pleasant experience.”
“Additionally, this gives you the opportunity to sleep on your final decision after a fitting. This ensures you choose the dress of your dreams,” she says.
2. Be Prepared
“Ensure you are sufficiently prepared for your fitting,” Mari Fin continues. “Years of experience have taught me that finding the perfect dress often becomes more difficult when the bride is unprepared. For instance, create a Pinterest board where you bring together all the elements that inspire you. This gives us a clear overview of the atmosphere you want to create at your wedding and allows us to extend this to the style and material of the dress.”
“On the other hand, also be open to new ideas, try different styles, and be flexible. If you have a beautiful satin dress in mind, try a romantic lace one too. Often, you’ll be very pleasantly surprised by the result.”
3. Get Advice
Trying on wedding dresses is an exciting experience you want to share with loved ones. “It's always wonderful when the future bride brings along loved ones to help during the process,” smiles Mari Fin. “Together with a select group of guests, we do everything to advise you as best we can. We make it an unforgettable experience with a nice glass of bubbles.”
4. Don't Focus Too Much on Trends
Mari Fin: “Your future wedding dress should naturally match your personality, body, the theme, and the location of your wedding. Therefore, choose a dress in which you truly feel good, that reflects you as a person and aligns with the overall theme of your wedding. In other words, avoid having your wedding dress focus solely or too heavily on current trends, rather than on other important factors for you.”
