Seven steps to the perfect photobooth experience
1. Put the photobooth in a strategic location
"Everything starts with a good location. Placing your photobooth just anywhere by the cloakroom is not the best idea. Once the party has started, your guests will lose sight of the photobooth. The best place? As close to the dance floor as possible!" shares Sarah.
2. Go all the way with an original background
"A special background immediately creates the right atmosphere," Arne continues. "A lot of couples forget that there are more possibilities than just the white party room wall. Let your creativity run wild, because really anything goes. Is there a common thread in the table decoration or did you choose a certain theme for your wedding? Then it's really nice if you carry this through. A banner, bouncy castle, the flower arch of your ceremony or some balloons are playful decorative elements that take your photobooth photos to the next level."
Sarah: "Do you have a smaller party or less room in the venue? Turn the photobooth around so the party becomes your backdrop. The device takes up less space and you instantly have an unforgettable backdrop. Win-win!"
3. Go wild with photobooth props
"Nothing is more fun than going crazy in front of the camera and propshelp with that, " Sarah explains. "There are lots of hilarious sticks, glasses and garlands today that you can use as fun-factor. Personalised props with your initials or items in line with your theme will also make your photos just that little bit more unique."
"Would you like to add a personal touch?", Sarah continues. "Choose accessories that totally suit you. If your partner works in the fire brigade or you love horse riding, then a helmet and cowboy hat are a top idea."
4. Ready? Laugh it up!
"To make sure everyone is in the photo, it is a good idea to provide instructions. Chances are, not all guests are familiar with the concept. Clear instructions allow everyone to make cool memories with the photobooth. Trust us, once they get the hang of it, they'll be flitting around the camera all evening," laughs Sarah.
5. Put your guest book next to the photobooth
"A guest book has a lot of pages and the chances of filling it up are slim," says Sarah. "So always a good idea to put it close to your photobooth and ask guests to stick one of their prints in the book with a personal message attached. In addition, you can fill the first 10 pages yourself with photos of your engagement and save the date. This way, you lower the threshold for your guests to be the first to write in the book."
6. Enjoy to the full
Arne continues: "Take your guests by the hand and start posing yourself. At our own wedding, we found that we didn't take super many photos ourselves. Our tip: appoint one of your friends to regularly send you and some of your guests to the photobooth. That will undoubtedly make for a lot of great memories."
7. Last, but definitely not least
"Finally, ask if there is internet at your wedding venue," says Sarah. "Afterwards, the couple will get all the photos anyway.
