1. Wedding dresses with floral motifs
In 2022, floral motifs are increasingly coming to the fore - absolutely breathtaking! Floral motifs are not ‘new’ in wedding dress collections, but this year colorful three-dimensional rosettes and beautiful embroidery provide innovative refreshment. From busy to seemingly simple - there is something for every bride.

2. Off-shoulder wedding dress
The off-shoulder wedding dress was already featured in the 2020 collections, but this year we will be seeing this beautiful look even more often. The off-shoulder wedding dress is ideal for any season, because you can choose between short sleeves, three-quarter sleeves, or long sleeves. The off-shoulder wedding dress is sure to give you the most romantic neckline—and sexy look—ever.

3. Short and mid-length wedding dresses
Short dresses are becoming a popular choice for brides in 2022. A short wedding dress is easy to wear and feels very comfortable. In a short or mid-length wedding dress, you can enjoy complete freedom of movement and show off your beautiful shoes and legs!

4. That little bit extra
The more ‘simple’ wedding dresses from before the COVID-19 pandemic are gradually making way for something with that little bit extra, for that extra ‘festive’ touch. For example, bridal fashion store Maxim's Couture in Aarschot says that their collections feature many romantic dresses that clearly offer that little bit extra. Think of the use of striking, often very rich fabrics and delicate finishes with glitter, pearls, and lace.

5. Two-piece sets
In the wedding dress trends for 2022, we are also seeing an increase in slightly less traditional bridal wear, such as a two-piece combination of a top and skirt or pants. Fun, playful, and creative, and completely in line with our new worldview after COVID-19. These two-piece sets are sure to flatter your figure and feel very comfortable. Designer Manon van Sikkema indicates that there is high demand for these: “From loose skirts or pants to crop tops, this trend is completely fashion forward.” Designer Dianna David agrees: “Our 2022 wedding dress collection focuses mainly on airy and supple natural silk fabrics. We continue this same line of airiness in our skirts: we use a lot of fabric, which then falls down airily. The tops are also very often made of lace.” Brides who prefer pants or jumpsuits will also find something to their liking in this fun bridal fashion trend.

6. Boho dress
Bridal shops JPC Collection and Maxim’s Couture indicate that Boho dresses will continue to be all the rage this season. The Bohemian wedding dress made its debut a few years ago and remains extremely popular this year. The boho wedding dress has become an indispensable part of the collections. It is perfect for a wedding in nature, a beach wedding, or a destination wedding. The Boho dress is often comfortable and airy around your body.

7. Return of the veil
The veil is back, having never really gone away. Single or double, with scalloped or satin edging, finished in lace or with a floral motif... JPC Collection is seeing a welcome increase in demand for veils. The veil completes your wedding look and adds that timeless, elegant touch. Start dreaming away...

8. Timeless: classic and minimalist
The fact that wedding dress trends for 2022 are quite diverse is ultimately proven by the continuing high demand for classic dresses. “The demand for a timeless, understated, and minimalist style remains the greatest,” says designer Manon van Sikkema. Classic wedding dresses come back every year because they will never go out of fashion. Isabelle van La Sposa also confirms that the classics remain “in”: their customers often opt for a sleek and understated line. It must be said: with this wedding dress, you will indeed always look elegant and chic. “In addition to dresses that offer that little bit extra, wedding dresses without lace or flowing chiffon—i.e., dresses with clean lines—are still the most popular wedding dresses,” says Maxim's Couture.
