Michaël from Michael & Giso tells us more about this trend: “We’ve been seeing this color palette for a while, and we’ll continue to see these earthy shades in 2023 as well. With society’s growing focus on nature, earth tones are slowly but surely taking the lead in our wardrobes. Think brown, green and red, but also calmer shades like beige, off-white and gray.”
Olivier from Labaere adds a few more trend colors: “Rust brown—an even more orange-red shade—is also making its entrance this year among the 2023 wedding suit trends. Blue remains, as always, a popular classic.”
2. Casual chic
“Parties are more relaxed these days than they used to be. That’s why an informal dress code with a chic twist is becoming increasingly popular,” says Yannick from Herenmode De Waele. With this 2023 wedding suit trend, you opt for neat, beautifully finished fabrics. For a casual chic look, for example, you can go for chinos with a blazer. But definitely also think about ‘sneaker suits’. These are wedding suits that pair perfectly with sneakers. Yannick from Herenmode De Waele: “Sneaker suits in ‘stretch’ fabric are completely on trend right now. Many choose them because they can still wear the suit often after their wedding.”

3. Oversized fit versus traditional
You see it more and more, both online and in the streets: the oversized fit. You can wear the trousers a bit looser, and the shoulders of the suit jacket can be a bit wider. Michaël from Michael & Giso gives us more insight into this trend: “It can all be a bit less tailored—one size bigger and wonderfully comfortable. You’ll also see this in made-to-measure suits, thanks to the frequent use of pleats and slightly longer jackets.”
In contrast, traditional wedding suits or sharply cut suits are making a comeback in 2023. Michaël from Michael & Giso: “Opposite the oversized fit is the ultimate sleek outfit, inspired by the traditional Italian suit. Think tight high-waist trousers and perfectly tailored jackets.”

“Vintage and retro wedding suits may well be the biggest trend of 2023,” Yannick from Herenmode De Waele tells us. “It’s a recurring trend that keeps growing in popularity.” Vintage wedding suits are inspired by fashion from the ’20s, ’30s, ’40s and ’50s. Their lasting success is partly thanks to the hit Netflix series Peaky Blinders.
