Rent one party room or several?
Before the search for your ideal party room can begin, decide how many ‘wedding events’ you will be hosting and therefore exactly how many venues you are looking for. A wedding at multiple venues can be quite charming. For example, choose a unique place for your reception, such as a brewery, an old laboratory or a sandy beach bar. Then move the event to a large party room, where you will stay until the early hours.
In which region?
The place where you say yes to each other can be a decisive factor when it comes to renting a party room. You want to avoid spending too long in the car on your most beautiful day. So decide in advance in which region your dream venue is roughly located. Are you getting married near where you live, or are you heading for the beach, the Ardennes or abroad?
For how many guests?
Every wedding venue is bound by a certain capacity. Some venues can accommodate up to 100 guests, while other party rooms can accommodate up to 500 guests. Therefore, it is important to sit down together beforehand and estimate your desired number of guests. That way, you avoid falling in love with a venue and wanting to rent a party room that your guests might not all be able to accommodate.
What theme?
If your wedding takes place in a particular theme, it is nice to extend this line to your venue as well. For example, if you opt for a rural decoration for your day, a barn decorated with cosy lights is a nice option. If you are getting married in summer, a marquee is a real contender.
How accessible is the venue?
It can be useful to check in advance the accessibility of the party room you have in mind. Perhaps you have guests who need facilities such as a lift? Tip: also check immediately where all cars can be parked.
Start early
If you have your party room, then you have a date set - and then you can ask all those other wedding professionals if they are still free. Just got engaged? Then start your search to hire the ideal party room now - even if you do not want to get married until two (or three) years later. Here, ‘started early’ really is ‘won halfway’!
