When the elevator doors open on the top floor of the rugged industrial building, a world of light, ambiance, and wonder unfolds. “The moment you step out of the elevator and gaze over the Ghent skyline is unforgettable,” says Event Manager Naomi Verhelst.
At Gaston, you don’t have to worry about relocating or logistical puzzles. From the ceremony to the dance party, everything can take place in one location. “Say your vows as the sun softly turns the towers of Ghent gold, then raise a glass to your love on our rooftop terrace, challenge young and old to a game of pétanque, and dance into the late hours in our industrial setting," smiles Naomi.
A special rooftop
The rooftop terrace is the soul of Gaston. Warm materials, cozy seating areas, a covered section for Belgian showers, and the view of the city make this place a unique setting. Even in less favorable weather, you won’t lose the charm: the indoor venue breathes the same industrial charm as the terrace, with a warm, inviting atmosphere.
“The iron staircase, the raw concrete, the retro caravan on the lawn, and naturally, that spectacular view make every photo a beautiful memory,” says Naomi. “My favorite spot? I got married at Gaston too, and during the dance party, my partner and I sneaked outside. We could enjoy a magical sunset with a view of Ghent, resulting in photos with a - literally - golden edge. It was a particularly intimate moment that our photographer captured beautifully.”
Culinary celebrations
For catering, Gaston relies on their in-house caterer Coeur Catering. Their cuisine is refined and sustainable, using local, seasonal ingredients and custom formulas. “We propose a menu that suits the time of year and align everything to match the couple’s style until it feels just right.”
You can choose from various options: from a classic seated dinner to sharing concepts, a walking dinner, buffet, or street food. “As long as it fits your dream wedding and aligns with the character of Gaston, we make it happen.” Those looking for something extra won't be disappointed either: “We once hosted a Mexican-themed party at Gaston. The barbecue, the decor, the aroma of the spices... The theme was carried through to the smallest detail. You truly felt like you were in Mexico.”
A team that thinks with you
Naomi continues: “Are you looking for a florist, a DJ, or a nice place to stay nearby? We think about the whole picture and guide you from start to finish. Everything is included, from furniture to lighting. You’re not just renting an empty venue; you get a complete package.”
On the day itself, you can rely on the team. Naomi: “We work with a regular team and a group of students and flex workers who have been with us for years. They know exactly what they're doing and ensure a warm, relaxed atmosphere.”
