Respect the dress code
Getting married is a festive occasion. So org make sure you reflect this in the outfit you have chosen. There is usually a dress code on the invitation - which basically limits the stress of choice. You have been invited to a wedding, so respect this invitation and put your best dress code foot forward!
Discover the different types of dress codes here.
White is for the bride
The single biggest style rule we can give you is to leave white dresses in your closet. The only person who should be in white on her wedding day is the bride herself. Yet in our Belgian culture. Off-white, beige and cream colours are also best avoided. If you are still a fan of pale colours, then it's better to go for pastel shades.
Sure about black?
For many people, wearing black attire to a party is not really festive - unless this would just be the dress code, of course. Black is and remains a mourning colour on some occasions, something some people would rather not associate with a wedding. Moreover, your attire at a wedding can often be just that little bit more, so a colour is always nice. Are you someone who almost always wears black? Brighten up your black dress with brightly coloured accessories, festive accents or nice heels in a fancy colour!

The shoes
The shoes you wear also deserve attention. Going for a new pair of heels? Try to walk in them beforehand to avoid painful feet. Also bring plasters or apply Compeed preventively to keep you as comfortable as possible. Also take into account the location of the wedding party. If you will be on grass all day, it is better not to opt for stiletto heels, but rather wear a block heel or wedge heel. Not so good on heels? Flat shoes are also okay! Opt for an elegant sandal or a nice ballerina - possibly as a second pair of shoes? This is much more stylish than kicking off your heels after two hours and continuing to dance barefoot.
If you keep the above tips in mind, you can rest assured that your attire is wedding-proof. Party on!
