Tip 1: keep track of your gifts
Add an extra column to your guest list so you can easily note who gave what. On your wedding day, appoint someone responsible—your bridesmaid, wedding planner or master of ceremonies—to keep track of which guest brought which gift during the reception. When you want to thank your guests afterwards, your card can gratefully and specifically refer to the present they gave. Practical—and your guests will definitely appreciate a personal thank-you!
Editorial tip: use our free RSVP tool to manage your guest list! Your guests can confirm or decline online, and your guest list is updated automatically. That way, you can plan your wedding efficiently and keep all guest-related information in one central place.
Tip 2: schedule your thank-you cards
Send your thank-you cards about one to six weeks after your wedding day. Within that time frame, every guest will still remember the magic of your amazing wedding celebration—so it’s lovely for them to receive one last keepsake! Inform your graphic designer or printer about your thank-you cards from the start, so they can be printed in the same style and on the same paper as your wedding invitations.
Tip 3: a photo says more than...
On your wedding day, you’ll be glowing like never before. A photo on your thank-you card creates a unique keepsake for all your guests. Guests who couldn’t attend but still gave a symbolic gift will, thanks to the photo on your card, still see you as the picture-perfect couple you’ll always be!
Tip 4: go personal
A few words of thanks show how happy you were with your friends’ presence and their thoughtful gesture. Want to make your message even more meaningful? Turn writing your thank-you cards into a real activity, and write as personal a note as possible for each guest or couple. That way, he or she will know just how important their presence truly was to you.
Tip 5: outsource the writing
A familiar handwriting style feels very sincere and authentic. This works perfectly for a short text for a small number of guests. But did you have several hundred guests at your wedding and would you like to thank them all personally in detail? Then outsource the writing to a professional.
