Types of tents
First things first: the tent. Did you know there are different types of tents? From silhouette to stretch tent, from a stylish frame tent to a pyramid or star tent: something for everyone! Your tent rental company is also the perfect partner to provide a wooden walkway and flooring, a restroom trailer, and any generator you may need.
Warm(ing) and cozy
Make sure you have enough patio heaters or a full-fledged tent heating system. Baskets filled with (fleece) blankets can be a lovely, creative extra. Add a fun message, such as “To have and to hold in case you get cold”, “Baby it’s cold outside”, “Keep warm”. Outside the tent, you can place fire baskets to keep smokers warm.
Winter Wonderland
Looking for a common thread for your wedding celebration? Look no further: the season itself can be your theme. Turn your party into a true Winter Wonderland and connect it to nature: lots of wood, evergreens, pine cones, snow, … In terms of colors, white, red, and green are the most obvious choices. But gold and silver also pair beautifully with a winter theme. Above all, work with warm decoration elements: wooden tree-slice place cards, floral arrangements with pine branches, sheepskins on the chairs, lots of candles, atmospheric lighting, …
Comfort food
When it’s freezing outside, you’ll naturally prefer warming dishes and drinks. Serve a tasty soup, book a food truck with hot chocolate or mulled wine, choose a chocolate fondue for dessert, or turn your celebration into one big winter barbecue.
Bundle up
Now that your guests are nice and warm, it’s time to think about yourself. You don’t want to be shivering in the photos, right? Look for a beautiful (cream-colored, white, Christmas red, …) coat, a bolero or short jacket, a cape, elegant gloves, or a fluffy faux fur. Did you know there are also wedding dresses with long sleeves? That way, you can wear the dress of your dreams without feeling cold. Don’t forget your bridesmaids either—and turn them into true winter princesses.
Tip: in winter, the days are short; it gets dark around 5 p.m. So be sure to take some outdoor wedding photos in time.
