1. 2027 trend colours: Luminous Blue & Silver
International trend forecaster WGSN and colour code system Coloro have named Luminous Blue Colour of the Year 2027: a deep, cobalt-like blue shade inspired by the lapis lazuli stone. The international colour institute Pantone only announces its colour of the year in December.
For your wedding, you can combine this something blue with warm cream tones or with silver. And it is silver that is also growing in popularity in 2027: after years in which gold and rose gold in particular defined the tables, jewellery and decor, we are seeing silver return more often. This cooler metallic shade instantly gives your wedding a fresh and elegant look. Silver works beautifully in jewellery, candlesticks, cutlery, napkin rings, printed materials and subtle decorative accents. Combine it with cream, sage green, powder lilac, soft blue or the cobalt blue of the year for a refined whole that feels modern.

2. Personal rituals over fixed traditions
The common thread we keep seeing in the wedding trends for 2027 is this: more and more couples are shaping their wedding day in their own way. Instead of following traditions as a matter of course, they consciously choose elements that suit their personality and wishes better.
For example, some couples get ready together, rather than seeing each other for the first time at the ‘altar’ or during a first look. Others walk to the ceremony together, give their witnesses a role during the vows, or replace the classic reception with an extended aperitif in the garden. The evening celebration is also more often given a personal touch, for example with their favourite live band or a surprise moment for the guests.
That freedom creates unpredictable wedding celebrations with plenty of character. Often, it is precisely those unexpected choices that make a wedding day truly their own.

3. Creative catering
Catering will also take on a more creative form in 2027. Couples are increasingly choosing a wedding celebration where food is not only delicious, it also creates atmosphere. Think of a walking dinner where guests can move around freely, large sharing dishes at the table, or live cooking where the chef finishes dishes on the spot.
The menu itself is becoming more personal too. A dish that refers to the place of your first date, a family recipe that has been passed down for generations, or a dish that combines both of your backgrounds, the menu becomes part of your story.
Food stations remain popular as well. A stylish oyster bar during the reception, an Italian pasta corner, a barbecue outdoors, or a cheese and charcuterie corner instantly add extra experience. Guests taste, chat and move spontaneously through the space.
The dessert moment is also getting an upgrade. The classic wedding cake remains a favourite, although we are increasingly seeing dessert buffets, dessert carts, tiramisu finished live, or late night sweets on the dance floor. That way, the end of the evening becomes a moment your guests will enjoy even more.

4. Sculptural flowers & striking textures
Flowers are set to play an even bigger role in styling, according to the 2027 wedding trends. More than that, they will help shape the atmosphere of your entire wedding day. Think of impressive floral installations above the dining tables, a cloud of flowers above the dance floor, or a ceremony setup built entirely around flowers and greenery.
Texture is also getting more attention. Florists are combining lush blooms with branches, grasses, leaves and other natural materials for added depth and movement. This gives your floral styling a much more personal feel. It becomes an extension of your venue, your season and the atmosphere you want to create.

5. Mocktails & alcohol-free experience
Drinking without alcohol is no longer the exception. More and more couples are choosing mocktails and alcohol-free alternatives that feel just as celebratory as a classic cocktail. That way, every guest can choose whatever they feel like having: with or without alcohol, fresh, spicy, or soft and fruity.
For example, think of a signature mocktail during the reception, an alcohol-free spritz with dinner, or a bar with refined drinks based on herbs, citrus, flowers or seasonal fruit. Also nice: give your mocktail a personal name, inspired by your favourite place, first date or wedding venue.

6. A wedding venue that tells your story
A striking feature within the 2027 wedding trends is that couples are choosing their wedding venue more and more because of a personal connection. Think of a farmhouse or estate your family has visited often before, the region you yourself come from, a place that simply feels like ‘you’, or a blank-slate venue without a fixed concept that you can style entirely yourself. So the question is not only where you get married, but also why that place suits your story. A characterful farmhouse, a glasshouse surrounded by greenery, a vineyard or an industrial building can make just as much of an impression as a classic castle. The feeling the venue creates as soon as your guests arrive is what matters.
Precisely because the venue says so much about you, or is in essence an empty canvas, the way you style it and the ‘scenography’ become even more important. Think of a circular ceremony, distinctive table arrangements that let the space breathe around your guests, or warm lighting that helps set the mood, so the focus shifts from decor to a complete experience for your guests.

7. Eco-chic 2.0
As in recent years, sustainability is more than a trend in 2027. Couples are making increasingly sustainable choices when planning their wedding celebration. Think local seasonal flowers, a menu featuring regional produce or decor that can be reused after the celebration. Vintage tableware, second-hand decorative pieces and reusable materials are also taking a prominent place in the styling.

8. One-of-a-kind everything
In line with the sustainability trend, mass production is increasingly making way for unique pieces with a story. Couples are consciously choosing details that you do not come across everywhere and that give their wedding day its own character. Vintage finds, heirlooms, handmade printed materials, embroidered accents and personal details are appearing more and more often, precisely because they say something about the couple themselves.

9. Budget-conscious luxury
More couples are handling their wedding budget more deliberately, according to the wedding trends of 2027. Instead of investing a limited amount in many different parts, they are more often choosing a few elements that will really make a difference. Think of a photographer whose style suits them perfectly, a culinary experience that guests will talk about for a long time, or flowers that bring the venue fully to life.
Our own survey of engaged couples confirms this too: atmosphere and experience (47%), food and drink (46%), and making sure everyone who matters is there (39%) take priority, while decoration and flowers and the honeymoon are most often adjusted first when couples need to save.
Smaller guest lists also fit within that evolution. As a result, there is often more room in the budget for quality, experience and personal touches. The focus is shifting from as much as possible to as good as possible.
10. A touch of Dolce Vita
The Mediterranean lifestyle is a major source of inspiration in 2027. Long tables under the open sky, olive trees, citrus accents and atmospheric lighting create a relaxed setting that evokes a lovely summer evening in Italy or the south of France.
This trend is not only reflected in the styling. The way guests come together also plays an important role. Extended aperitifs, sharing dishes at the table and enjoying local ingredients brings people closer together. The result? A wedding celebration with a beautiful theme centred on being together, good food and relaxed conversations that continue late into the evening.

11. Multi-day wedding celebrations
For many couples, one day simply feels too short. That is why wedding weekends continue to grow in popularity. A cosy welcome dinner on Friday, the wedding celebration on Saturday and a relaxed brunch on Sunday create more time together, longer celebrations and more enjoyment. Especially when family and friends are coming from further away, such an extended format feels extra valuable.
12. Immersive entertainment
Entertainment is becoming increasingly interactive and surprising. In addition to live bands or DJs, couples are more often choosing entertainment that actively involves their guests. Think of live musicians performing alongside a DJ, magicians during the reception, live illustrators or other creative acts. This puts entertainment centre stage, contributes strongly to the overall experience and creates memories your guests will talk about for a long time.

13. Documentary photography, content creators & guest content
One of the wedding trends we are seeing in 2027 is that spontaneous moments and genuine emotions take centre stage. Couples do not just want beautiful photos, they also want to relive what their wedding day really felt like. That is why documentary photography remains popular. Wedding content creators are also growing in popularity. They capture the day with short videos and behind-the-scenes footage that is often available within just a few hours.
In addition, guests are increasingly helping to collect memories, for example through shared photo galleries or digital cameras that are passed around during the celebration. This creates a lovely mix of professional images and spontaneous moments, seen from an extra personal perspective.

14. Wedding dresses with texture & character
In bridal fashion, we are seeing more boldness and personality in 2027. We also spotted this trend in the new collections at Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week in April 2026. More and more brides are choosing a wedding dress with striking details and a character of its own. Lace, corsets, statement sleeves, ball gowns with lots of volume and sensual mermaid dresses often make an appearance. 3D flowers, beadwork, layered fabrics and rich textures such as pleated satin or jacquard also create extra depth. Those who prefer to keep things simple opt for luxurious minimalism, such as a flowing cut in satin or mikado, with few details. Curious about all wedding dress trends for 2027? In this article we’ve listed them for you!

15. Whimsy versus organic minimalism
In terms of styling, we see two clear trends. Both styles show nicely how wedding trends for 2027 are less about rules and more about personal preferences. On the one hand, organic minimalism remains popular, with natural materials, soft colours, linen fabrics, ceramics and a calm look.
At the same time, the need for more romance and fantasy is growing. Powder lilac shades, striking flowers, historical influences and playful details create an atmosphere that feels almost fairytale-like. Internationally, this style is often described as whimsy: romantic, dreamy and just a little less structured.

One thing is clear: the wedding trends of 2027 are all about choices that feel right for you. Couples are letting go of traditional expectations more quickly and creating a wedding day that suits their personality, style and story. Whether you dream of an intimate wedding weekend, a Mediterranean atmosphere, a complete culinary experience or a ceremony full of flowers and personal details, the trend that matters most remains a wedding that is entirely yours!
Good luck!
