On average, a wedding photographer will be present for 6 to 12 hours on your wedding day, depending on the package you’ve chosen. If you opt for a shorter package, your wedding photographer will capture a selection of key moments, such as your civil ceremony, the wedding ceremony and the reception. If you’d like the whole day documented, your wedding photographer will follow you from the morning until after the first dance. If the photographer is present all day, please also provide lunch, an afternoon snack and dinner for them.

Choose a wedding photographer whose style appeals to you straight away. Every wedding photographer has their own signature style: some document your day in a photojournalistic manner, whilst others prefer natural light and a softer, fine-art reportage style. Whether you choose one or two wedding photographers is a personal choice. Two wedding photographers capture more footage from different angles, ensuring you don’t miss a single emotion. For example, the second photographer might capture your partner’s arrival, whilst the first stays with you. Make clear arrangements in advance about what you expect.

A pre-wedding shoot or engagement shoot is a photo shoot that takes place before your wedding day, often a few weeks or months in advance.
